I went from PS3 to 360 then to PS4 (I do however own an Xbox One as well but Destiny is on Playstation 4).
PS3 was horrible with its servers, I remember playing games and always getting disconnected for reasons that were not my own. Despite this, I loved playing it and put something like 27 days on MW2 and then time on other games.
Went to 360, paid for live and it was so smooth, no problems. Maintenance was scheduled, they let you know when it was happening and ETAs to coming back up.
Made the switch back to Sony and PS4 for friends IRL and the first thing I notice is how bland the main screen is, and how messages take forever to load, (xbox it's instant, same with achievements, and the sweet backgrounds... I mean come on! When you get an achievement you can look at the art work for it and set it as your background)
Also the player profile is much more in depth.. For those who care about it. Notice on PS4 how short your "about me" aka description is.. How can I briefly introduce myself in 10 words? It's a joke! You can showcase and customize your profile others see much better on Xbox. I know, some people don't want a "social" console but ignore if you don't like it.
Ps4 is slow for some reason, messages and trophies take a while to load. Upwards of many minutes! Even on the app. I usually just text my friends instead.
Oh! NOT to mention how poorly sony updates status on its badly structured network. They don't keep us informed, take days longer than Microsoft to keep things running. Its pathetic.
I love both consoles but for reasons clear, xbox outperforms Ps4! They are way more involved with their community. Their home menu has news, deals on games, videos and informative items.. PSN? Pft here are 5 backgrounds to choose from.. News on PSN? Nah use google
Just my opinion and deep down ps4 owners know it's true. Had my friend not switched without telling me, we'd be on xbox. Not a fanboy, spent equal time on both consoles but these things are facts:
XBOX:
o Xboxs messaging quicker, more reliable and getting in game messages only take up 1/4 of the screen.
o Used profiles more in depth and interactive
o Better and more stable service in Live
o More communicative maintenance team.
o Achievement app very interesting with stats and specific challenges for games.
o You can change your gamertag
* I also like how if you turn the Xbox off (if you have setting right) and come back later, click the game you were playing, it will be there from where you were instantly.*
PS4:
o Simpler home screen
o Controller lights up (battery life SUCKS)
o Better specs
o Saving game clips up to 15 minutes
o Cannot change PSN ID..
LAME
These are all small things, except live service. I will continue to use Playstation as Destiny is on there. I just think Xbox has a tighter, more professional output and service.
Don't get butt hurt! Just my opinion!! Let me know yours.
Edit: Thanks to all of you who understand the points I am making are not to make a "war" but to show you where Xbox outperforms Sony. Those areas would be customizability, communication and response.

Some are true but some are preference. Depends on what you like. But this whole fan base needs to chill the fûck out
-
My opinion is maybe you should play your favourite system rather than spending time telling us how great it is on a forum.
-
Come to xboxone. I bought ps4 for exclusives. Everything else i play on xboxone coz it has better functionality for social games auch as destiny.

Really, if we just had Sonys hardware and Xbox's everything else, we would have the perfect console. Mabye have the choice of which controller style, i personally cant stand the Dual Shock. Oh and ditch Sonys exclusive games, Killzones a joke compared to Halo and little big planet has nothing compared to project spark.
-
I have both consoles and play ps4 the most due to destiny. Live>Psn Xbox controller >dual shock Xbone dashboard> ps4 dash Ps4 console > Xbone console
-
As an Xbox player, I like both consoles and there's reasons to love both of them. The thing that makes me jealous of PS4 is the exclusive games. No man's sky looks like it will be great, and I heard they're making Dragon's Dogma online for Playstation as a free to play, along with a couple of ports over from pc. I personally do think Xbox generally runs smoother though and there is a lot to like about the system as well.
-
Do people really care this much?
-
I can't really comment on any the comparisons since I only own an X1 and have never played PS4, but you make it sound as if the X1 has no problems at all, which isn't the case.
-
You can tell all the people hating are ps4 fans lol
-
Not trying to make a war? That's actually the only line I read, all I saw was a wall of bullshit.
-
Your tears are delicious, my I have st them to prolong my immortality?

Edited by RandomMikael: 2/2/2015 6:00:46 PMAlso isn't it pathetic you have no option of privacy to appear offline and still have online functionality? Hell, you don't even get a notification when your friend comes online but do whn a party is made..
-
All the paid live for the 360 must've helped with the production of the final product, the Xbox one. I own a ps4 and I think all of the things you said were true.
-
My ps4 is constantly used. My xb1 was only used for the week that titanfall was fun

Edited by Vendicta: 2/2/2015 5:57:24 PMHahaha Xbox ftw ! In yo face stupid PSN fanboys

In ps3 and 360 era, I went through 5 360's that all broke within a month or less threw that shit in the trash where it belonged and bought a ps3, never had a single problem with playstation. Got the XBone cause of my friends and its been fine, much better than 360. Still plan on buying a ps4 and I have a PC.
-
Yep. I know that when I'm about to shell out $400 for gaming rig, I focus on the important shit. Like how dynamic the main screen appears and how in depth I can make my personal bio.
-
I have both consoles and I agree that Live is much better than PSN. On that note I do play ps4 much more, mostly due to Destiny.
-
What does this have to with Destiny?
-
Your a joke. PSN is fine 99% of the time. It's came along way since the 2011 hit and for company that DIDNT MAKE COMPUTER SOFTWARE SINCE THE 70s, I think they're doing pretty good given how far technology has come.
-
Agreed
-
My xbox one is the primary and i also have a ps4 to play the exclusives and now i think it was a waste of money. No features were added since launch except the firmware update and even they had to make an e3 presentation for it. Every other week i see psn down stories on ign and hear friends ranting. Sony is just a money hungry company who doesn't give back to the community after selling millions of consoles as they claimed. I am glad xbox sold less and that pushed them to introduce awesome features. With sony almost going bankrupt i dont blame them they need the $$. After a whole year of 1080p and 60 fps boasting it will be nice to see them come out with the most mediocre over hyped exclusive - the order at 30 fps 800p.
-
Tl;dr. If you care about being social get an Xbox If games mean more to you get a ps4. If you want the best of everything hack apart both of them and assimilate the OS into your pc
-
Wow. Waaaaaay too long. Scrolled after realizing. Psn is fine. Relax.
-
What a great opinion statement try putting it in your ass? Maybe it'll help you better later on.
