I find it unfair that the Titan doesn't have that suction effect when performing a melee attack.
I believe it creates a massive disadvantage in CQC and I'm actually put off from using mine as during face to face combat, a Warlock or Hunter can lunge at you from further away, while the Titan just swings at the air
There's so many little stupid things on the game like this for each class that create advantages in areas that shouldn't be
Surely the Titan should be king of CQC with his brute strength?
Doesn't really bother me as I'll use my other classes but there's defiantly a disadvantage there. It's feels like a bug more than anything

So says the only class with shoulder charge.

47 RepliesTitans are underpowered because armor doesn't mean a thing in this game, they need to buff it so it actually counts. We shouldn't be dying the same time as every other class.
-
Because he's a brute. A fighter. Warlock is using magic, so it makes sense his melee draws people in
-
3 RepliesYou're melee has a chance to reset itself/deal area damage/kill in one hit/replenish health. Don't think you need the range.
-
It does. First day as a titan?
-
Armor definitely helps, but only a little. I've killed people in 2 hand cannon head shots, but some survive those two with a sliver. Those enemies are specced to armor. There is a small difference. If it made a major difference, do you think anyone would play anything other than a titan? I didn't think so either.
-
Warlocks have the best melee really. Which is odd.
-
2 RepliesWell, it seems that Titan melees are a little bit stronger than a hunter's knife. Shoulder charge is an instant kill, which is an advantage over other classes. For a hunter, blink strike teleports you closer by a few feet, but isn't an instant kill unless you set up a perk that makes it stronger when knifing an enemy from behind- way more tricky than just sprinting straight at someone for a kill. I don't think it's that much of a problem for a Titan just because their melee doesn't auto aim for them.

3 Replies700 years in the future you would think your gloves would detect an enemy and guide your fist into said enemy

3 RepliesGet out of here with your unlimited shoulder charge bs and maybe then we'll talk.

Also titans are robotic dumb dumbs
-
Its because of this damn reason most pvp titans are so reliant on shoulder charge.
-
as a titan, I know how close I have to be to preform a effective melee attack. perhaps in time you will also learn when to preform this extremely effective attack.
-
Agreed. I think at least that their melee should receive a very slight damage buff to make up for that. Warlocks have range, hunters have speed, so titans should have the strength
-
I noticed about the magnetic grenade even though you throw it near a non metal object it will still semi track it's way to the target. I just find that odd.lol
-
I understand what your saying. I don't have much experience with my Titan yet since I just started on building him up (lvl 13 atm). But I want to say it's what makes the class unique on its own. You must not only factor in the melee but the other attributes that come with the subclass for example: the shoulder charge.
-
Maybe the hunter shouldn't throw the knife when I'm trying to punch and miss.
-
Because Titans don't need it. It's part of what makes each class unique and you either deal with it and accept that no class has everything, or admit to yourself it's time to pick a new one to main. Personally I love playing as a Titan and don't view the melee as a hindrance at all.
-
The Titan's melee is more CQC than the Hunter and Warlock which are more distant attacks. I have a Titan as my main character and I never really had an issue with the melee, it takes a little more direct look at the enemy for the magnetism to work but it's there. Not as much range as a blink strike or the warlock melee but it's still decent.
-
I say this to myself every time I play crucible...im just derpin around swingin in the air like "BEEYAAAAHHH!" However....the only way I have been able to make a titan melee lock on and "lunge" at the enemy is to slide to them the melee, but this is always a problem because a shotgun is always more effective....
-
Shoulder charge?
-
2 Replies
melee magnetism Suction effect
Lol, the word you are looking for is lunge. Yeah, this is something that has always been a slight bother to me
-
You lunge further if you jump just before you melee.
-
All the melees have a little lunge to them.
