Tired of using bounties to lvl up gear or your character lvl? Well as of a couple weeks ago I have discovered a simple solution to this problem. It works well with the Husk of the Pit as well. If curious just post and I'll tell.
*Edit: As of a few days ago you no longer receive xp for weapons and gear. When I first started this area xp for weapons and gear was great but now this area is great for:
Bounties, Kills, Glimmer, and Husk of the Pit
So don't rely on XP for gear in this area. Just turn in the bounties from using this area while having a telemetry on for your weapons and watch it skyrocket in lvl.
Thanks guys for bringing this to my attention.

On the mission "The Awaking" you will come to a room with a Shrieker and about 5-10 cursed thralls. Kill the Shrieker and after that the thralls. The next room/ hall will have a Shrieker in it as well (DONT GO THAT FAR) if you pass the door to the next room you will set a checkpoint stopping the continuous thrall flow. Stay in the first room after killing the Shrieker and continue to kill thralls. In 20 min I had over 700 kills and counting. Took 15 min to fully upgrade "Husk of the Pit" to equip an embalming orb. It works extremely well if you hate wiping all the time at checkpoints to get continuos kills. With this way you never have to wipe. Just make sure to shoot all the cursed thralls once before you blow them all the -blam!- up.

This is shameless self promotion. by no means the best or the easiest. It doesn't even work! You're not the one who first discovered it's usefulness for bounties either.

Just a heads up about the whole "No XP" thing - Any mission that has the potential to spawn unlimited mobs will not give xp - When you first enter the area and kill the original enemies, you get xp for everything, but if you stay behind and keep killing them, the xp stops - A prime example is also the one mission on mars where you go underground to fight the Vex and destroy the gates - you get xp and the tears for the bounty for all the original enemies, but if you let the vex keep coming through the gate the most you get by killing them is glimmer if you have the consumable active

This method sucks...

You've told us how to do absolutely nothing, thanks

An easier way is have 3 characters, vault the weapon and equip while turning in bounties, I can fully rank up a legendary weapon in 3hrs.

Edited by Mister_F0XX3: 12/23/2014 7:31:29 PMHey everyone it's Nightmare again! It's that time of the week where we all wipe our slates clean and start fresh! Excited for tonights raid! I hear some people are having trouble so I'm looking forward to giving out some pointers to all of you that want to know more. The raid has almost been completely covered now so I hope every one has a good understanding of what's going on. I will be streaming the Raid tonight on Twitch with the casual group I always run with. I hope that you chime in and take a peak on how easy this raid really is compared to VoG. I will also run the Nightfall right after while I explain a little more in depth over glimmer farming and other XP areas. Both of which I will be posting on my YouTube channel as well. I hope to see you guys tonight on my channel and asking many questions. Check it out DreamFromANightmare Looking forward to it. Once again Thank you guys for all your interests and concerns. Love the questions keep 'em coming!

Why did you create a comment with the information instead of having it in the original post?

Getting gear XP is the easy part... the difficulty lies in getting the ascendant materials to fully max them out. I need 9 shards to get to lvl 31 and am only getting energies... LOL!

Edited by WarjackPrime: 12/23/2014 8:18:52 PMWhat the -blam!- are you talking about?
-
Why would it no longer give you XP? It's a normal story mission right?
-
so wait your post is so confusing, what are you trying to say, is it good for leveling your weapons or not? cause you're talking about telemetry when you state on the start of your edit that it isn't fine for weapons.
-
Exclusion zone is worth more XP and money..

Serious question here, what are the best legendary special weapons to buy from one of the vendors? The only legendary specials i have right now are murmur and found verdict. Id like something else to have when i equip my thorn instead of my icebreaker or patience in time.

Works for kills, no xp though, regardless of damaging each one first or not. I had the 9k xp bounty and it never moved. This is typical of enemies that endlessly spawn, like the vex that come through the gates. Last I checked though, those didn't count as kills for bounties. So the thralls counting towards Eris Bounties and others is a plus. Random tip: Shoot the cursed thralls at the back of a pack and get The Unseen bounty credit for the ones up front.

More like easiest way to get banned...
-
What's the problem with bounties? I do patrol on the moon doing missions/bounties while farming helium and my stuff has been leveling fast. In fact faster than I have shards to finish the upgrades... Going to have to run vault for more...

Yea i would like to know how.

How??

I tried this last night to level up Fatebringer and to be honest it didn't level quick at all. Don't know whether its because you pop one cursed and they explode and kill the others, but I tried it for 10 minutes with hand cannon telemetry on and the weapon xp level barely moved.....?

You can get continuous thrall and knights in CE raid. In the first part, once you have activated the bridge, walk across and before going too far into the light, turn around and shoot at the continuous stream of enemies coming across the bridge, they don't stop spawning. However, I'm not 100% sure if raid kills go toward exp for weps and armour, or even Husk of Pit kills.
-
Why not the exclusion zone. you get glimmer and great EXP with little effort IMO.

Nice dude randomly found this too.
