So your in the raid with your group trying to 5 man it because one member of your team had stuff going on and isn't on.
You left the fire team open to friends so when your 6th man gets on he can just jump in with you.
Remember those people you added to do the weekly and night fall from the forum?
I sure do.
They see you running the raid and will just jump in with you.
You don't even know who this person is. You forgot you added them.
"Who the hell is this lvl 29" one of your teammates ask.
"Dude kick this lvl 29 there's no way we can do it with him" another chimes.
We all have this happen from time to time and it will annoy you beyond mars when it does.
Those random friends you have that will keep checking the roster to see what all of his willing friends are doing.
He sees you doing the raid and jumps in with you.
"Are you guys doing the raid? Can I help?"
Thanks for asking after you have already jumped in.
Raid Stalkers is what they are and they know their game.
Don't be a Raid Stalker
I was a raid stalker yesterday. My friend's crew was struggling in the raid that day, and invited me a couple times throughout the day. I figured I'd jump in and help. They kicked me when Atheon was 5 seconds from dying and invited their friend back. For every one good friend I've made in this game, 4 or 5 I add turn out to be jerks.
-
I usually prefer to raid with friends once I've gotten my saves done for the week. I like to join destinylfg.com groups on the runs I'm doing for loot. Randoms are usually pickier about gear, and shaving off the dead weight if it's holding us back. Can't always do that with friends.
-
If I see 5/6 and I dont have a clear on Crota or VoG. You can bet 100% I'm jumping in. I'm here to GSD (get shit done). You never know if you never ask. -DK
-
Raid Stalking....Not even once but nah i dont mind i tend to help people where i can. and if people join they see the spot open and want to help me....you know like friends do in real life........
-
You can blame yourself for this. Change your fire team privacy or just explain to them that the spot is full. Some people are just trying to help and or get ahead. Can't blame them for that.
-
I have a couple people who will jump in when we're waiting for someone to get back from being disconnected. This happened twice in a row one match. "Uh.. no, we're still waiting for him to join back, which he can't. 'Cause you joined. Again."
-
Edited by Always Feral: 12/22/2014 7:13:29 PMI'll jump in sometimes. But I'm level 31, know how to use the relic and usually carry some nasty weaponry for when I'm not, so I never get the "Dude who the f*** is this level 29" treatment. Sadly, I've yet to actually get with a team that can clear any raid. With VoG, we'd start losing people who didn't have the patience to deal with Atheon's glitches (like when they're stuck flailing around completely blind because I got teleported into an alternate dimension) and I haven't really tackled Crota's End past the bridge sequence.
-
My random friends are not dicks so we join each other games to help out whenever we want. I think it's called being social.
-
sorry, I'm known. I don't and randoms
-
I can only imagine what horrible things occurred in your life for you to assume the worst when someone on your FRIENDS list jumps in asking if they can help when there is an opening. If the person jumping in throws a fit when you state "Sorry, we're actually full - look forward to playing with you another time", then I could understand the kick request. Seriously - if you're raiding with 4 other people & slot 6 is reserved, set it to Invite only, and ask your friends to do the same...it takes 15 seconds and will prevent misunderstandings. If you're on the PS4, something else to consider is that messages take a consider amount of time to actually reach the other person. It's a game - happy thoughts people. :-)
-
I am the raid stalker >:). And when I'm raiding and we're 1 man down, it's usually because we need another so I'm fine with randoms joining.

PSA time.

Edited by 传说中的 Ghost: 12/20/2014 9:46:08 PMThis is meh compared to people who hijack your party's chat. You're in raid or Iron Banner, and this one guy's random friend joins and starts talking gibberish. If you're even more lucky this random friend will have one of his friends join the party as well and start ranting about random garbage. Had this happen last night. I was infuriated to say the least. I shouted out loud "Throw these fking random mongoloids out of the party!" And there you have it, party leader threw them out. Don't join a party and start talking about your life, we don't give a shit when we're raiding or playing competitively.
-
Has happened to me twice. Removed them from my friends list.
-
I always ask before hand if I notice someone has a team of five in the raid.
-
Your slating people for them trying to get in on a raid... How about you go through your list of friends and remove everyone except the people you play with most instead of being a dick and making them look stupid in the process!
-
I know a guy that is constantly trying to jump into my raid groups... Funny thing is, when we played titanfall with him.. He couldn't get the DLC Destiny.. Season pass day one... Idgi
-
Even worse i now have window stalkers
-
Edited by Swiftlock: 12/22/2014 12:04:30 AMEven worse, I have Party Stalkers. That is, people who will jump into any party they can find and attempt to insert themselves into what the party is doing, even if they hardly know anyone in the party to begin with. Not necessarily a bad thing, but it's pretty awkward. (Party Stalker has entered the party.) "Hey, what are you guys doing? Can I help? Can someone leave so I can join? What are we going to do next, guys? Oh, you don't need me? Are you sure? Oh... okay, bye. (Party Stalker has left the party.) *3 seconds later* (Party Stalker has joined another party.)
-
What's worse are those that ninja into a raid the second someone gets d/c or goes to switch to an alt. Seriously, don't you have something better to do than stalk your friends list waiting for their fire team to open up?
-
Had a guy join me at the count down timer for a daily story then another asked for help with nightfall. I ended up getting him to phogoth and left. Who cares, they added you so they can do the raid, if your team is full, then say so.
-
I'm the other way around I solo the nightfall get to the end and then send my friends and invite, :) that's what real friends do
-
It never fails always someone waiting to join my game when I'm on the weekly heroic or nightfall. It's almost always a random I added, so they get kicked and deleted.
-
Always jumping in my nightfalls when I'm at the boss already. Weak sauces.
-
I love raid stalking. And nightfall stalking....see a friend just start a nightfall I give it about 10-15 min before I join.
