Shotty people are sometimes good, but I would not put them as the MVP. I am a AR/SG user but I also use the Skills combined more then either (melee, grenade, super) I think those with the best K/D ratio are the MVP if they have 15+ kills to their name. The lack of deaths helps the team more in the long run then the Shotty people who are just making the game go faster.

  • You have a good point, yea the guy with the least deaths is helping the team out by not giving many points towards the other teams score. But at least in Control, what I mainly play, Some one who charges the middle point and tries to hold it for your team is very necessary. Majority of the time you play you probably do not have a full team of 6. With out a full team of 6 it is very hard to win a game with only 1 point held. Holding 2 out of 3 points makes kills for the other team worth less, so the three randoms on your team combining for 35 deaths are giving, I think, around 100 points less per each of those deaths. There are ways to hold a mid point with a primary weapon and without "abusing" a shotgun or fusion rifle. But it is a lot harder to shoot someone accurately in the head at medium range then to pre-charge a fusion rifle and corner shoot or to just wait a bit longer and get them with a shotgun when they step to your flag. Personally I started this game unskilled with a shotgun, after time and practice I got better with it, found a shotgun I like, and now I am pretty good at beating people close range with shotguns. Still I am bad with fusion rifles so I try to adapt my play style to either be close enough to use a shotgun or far enough to use my Assault Rifle. I am kinda ranting now lol, but I think the what you have said about using your primary and secondary together is the most effective and efficient way to control and dominate an area of the map. My disagreement would be that, the highest score should always be MVP. Yea sometimes the guy with the highest score also has the most deaths but you need to determine MVP by one thing that can consistently and accurately represent the Guardian that went all out for his team. Score may not always show the True MVP but I think it does more consistently than any thing else.

  • You hit the nail on the head......make the game go faster is all guys who play shotgun do, preying on the weakest links in the most obvious spots.

Yeah I have many games like that. The guy running around with shotty and AR will go 24-18 and I'll be going 15-8 with my handcannon and sniper lol. I dont' have as many kills as some players, but I play a solid game, hold objectives, attack points at the right times and generally try to not to give up easy kills.
