Serious Error Code Problems

If anyone could help me it would be much appreciated. I got the game for Xbox 360 a few months ago, and everything worked pretty well until I began to receive random sporadic error codes. I thought "ok, it's a new game, I'll give the wonderful people at bungie time to fix the bugs." Well, it got so bad that I was unable to get five minutes into any mission, even a simple patrol, without being kicked off with a "jackrabbit" or the much more common "caterpillar" error codes. So I tried my hand in the crucible, where I found I was unable to get through more than a single match without getting another "caterpillar" error and then even getting signed out of Xbox live. So I gave it a rest for a month or so and just picked it back up today. Tried to play for about 2 hours and was kicked off 4 times, each time was a "caterpillar" error. I am on the verge of selling the game since it's literally unplayable for me. It's no fun to be stuck at level 20 because you can't participate in the action. If there's a way to get my money back that would be fantastic but a fix to my problem is really what I'm looking for Thanks

  • Hi Slovak Ranger, I'm sorry for the repeated CATERPILLAR errors you've come across. There are a number of possible explanations here and in some cases, resolution can be found with changing home network settings. In other cases, the underlying cause may be upstream. Can I have you try the steps found here: http://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Article/12147 ? Further below, I see that you are using port forwarding. Bungie does not recommend this and in most cases such settings are more likely to cause issues. Try disabling port forwarding completely and instead using UPnP if you haven't already.

    • *UPDATE* I'm giving up, the game just kicked me two minutes into another crucible match. So until someone from Bungie comments on this with an idea to fix this, the game will sit on my shelf and I'll go back to playing Advanced Warfare and NHL. Sorry Bungie, you're losing a player since Halo CE.

    • I cant even load any mission tower strike or crucible without caterpillar or disconnected from xbl . 2 new modems caple provider rewired my whole house out to the pole and xbox set up ports and then did dmz still wont work ... bungie please fux this

      • The only thing that worked for me was a new modem after hearing that working for others after patches made the game unplayable..
