If you're using explosive rounds, those head shots may not be all you need for a kill. What I mean is, the splash damage from explosive rounds are what is likely "killing" your enemies. If you're not using explosive rounds, I have no idea what to tell you.

Yes Yes Yes . I have this problem too on Xbox one. Had game for a week reached lvl 11 with no precision or ability kills in the stats. Bungie please fix this!!!!!!!

I picked up a PS4 Destiny addition on 12/5/2014. Leveled up to 20 over the weekend, Vanguard only. And I haven't seen 1 precision kill recorded yet. Or teammates precision kills in the postgame carnage report.
