For this raid, it is clear to everyone that solar damage will be key because of those blasted witches. Although, are we forgetting that when Knights are highly leveled, they have arc shields? Im sure you all know this, but for those that dont, dont waste all of your currency on solar weapons because those knights will be a pain in the rear when it comes down to it. I can't wait guys, im super pumped for this new raid!
Noted, Harpies have arc shields as well.
This is just an assumption for whats to come.

2 RepliesI don't see why everyone is talking knights having the arc over shield. Harpies didn't have it during VoG. They only get those when it has an epic modifier.
-
MURMUR! MURMURMUURRRRUURRR
-
Ice breaker baby...I love you!
-
The raid has burns??
-
1 ReplyActually the "epic" modifier gives them shields, not high level
-
I got fate bringer/mythoclast FWC fusion rifle and hezen vengence
-
Got an arc build on my Titan so I'll be ready for the knights. Hopefully the rest of my group will work on the wizards.
-
I love how everyone's like "I'm gonna use a Vex Mythoclast, a Plan C and a Thunderlord!" lol
-
5 RepliesThe fact that Eris gives you a fusion rifle that switches between solar/arc damage as a reward during the story missions to prep you for what's to come is a clear hint that you're going to want both these damage types in the raid.
-
I am gonna go all-out on Solar... w/ the damage output i am able to generate... arc shield is not a concern... will be running w/ - Vex / Perun's Fire (Solar) and Hezen Vengeance Can replace Vex w/ Timepiece and equip w/ Plan C if Arc is really necessary.

Edited by BC23RIK: 12/8/2014 4:47:56 PMI don't know that the raids are entirely dependent on one or two particular elemental burns. The Wizards will absolutely need solar burn weapons to knock their shields down and the Knights will need arc burn if they do indeed have their shields on. The only enemy in the VoG that has a shield is the Praetorians if I remember correctly and outside of those, I didn't see a big difference when I used the VoC or Fatebringer rather than Atheon's Epilogue. Personally, once I got the VoC and then Fatebringer some time after I rarely ever used AE simply because it lacked the range and impact. I definitely agree that everyone should bring one of each burn type to be on the safe side but I think outside of a few select enemies, it comes down to personal preference. I could be totally wrong here or Bungie will throw a new wrinkle in the new raid but as of right now it feels like it all comes down to what you prefer to use rather than what you absolutely have to use. This is for those that argue one particular burn modifier is needed for the entire raid. Solar will be a must against those damn witches and their Gatling Gun magic shooters we call hands.

I think the fact that they are giving us Murmur is the biggest piece of evidence pointing to solar and arc shields. They gearing us up for the raid through the storyline. And the blades of crota also have arc shields.
-
I've heard that knights won't have any shield at all but I got a arc fusion rifle ready
-
Plan C is about to be my go to weapon again them along w time piece and zombie apocalypse
-
3 RepliesEdited by Andrenden: 12/6/2014 11:17:05 PMWhat? Fatebringer wielding Sunsingers are the master race THIS raid as well? If you insist! Praise the Sun
-
A list of some of my maxed weapons. Fatebringer. VoC. Icebreaker. Hezen vengeance. Vex mythoclast. I think I'll be fine lol.

3 RepliesEdited by SIG96: 12/7/2014 4:52:30 AMWhy do people automatically assume that knights won't have arc shields in the new raid because ultra knights only have arc shields on during the epic modifier? Blades of Crota have arc shields. Praetorians in the VoG are high level minotaurs that have void shields.... please use your heads sometime.
-
1 ReplyRaid has no burn but knights will have arc shield and wizards will have solar shield.
-
Edited by Goldenmonkey360: 12/7/2014 4:00:50 AMI believe only wizards will have shields for the same reason that only minotaurs had shields in VoG
-
Edited by SniperWOLF: 12/8/2014 11:51:38 AMA Tip you may not know: Get a weapon with explosive Rounds for those Knights ;) (they can penetrate their front barrier). Fatebringer has explosive Rounds for example.
-
U NEED TO GET MURMUR! I'm not sure how although I'm pretty sure eris sells it, but It is a fusion rifle that switches between solar and arc damage! Also it's only legendary so don't worry about used exotic slot.
-
It will be quite similar to the weekly heroic nightfall phogoth strike without modifiers.
-
1 ReplyThe only thing is that in vog not a single harpy had an arc shield. Only minotaurs. So I think we won't have to worry and arc shielded knights, since they're uncommon. Only solar shielded wizards
-
8 RepliesHarpies, Shanks, Psions, and Knights only have shields when the Epic modifier is on, which is more than likely not going to be on in any raid. I dont know why I'm surprised people still dont know this.
-
I'm probably gnna roll voc, plan c and Hezan vengeance, for my first run anyways!
-
Yeah I don't think Knights will have arc shields but I still think arc will be use in crota end simply because vog was void dmg.. But atheon is weak to solar
