So you're going to make us re-level all our exotics in the DLC?
I'm okay with the upgrading exotics through RNG/Xur a week and the glimmer cost, but making us re-level the whole damn weapon/armor? Maybe I might be getting my panties in knots over nothing but seems kind of counter productive.
I know, I know it doesn't take that long to level a piece of gear up, but couldn't they just add more nodes to the tree?

EDIT: Seems people are thinking I am advocating a free ride to the new version exotics, I am not. I want some kind of work involved in that respect. I would like to seem some compensation for the time/materials/work invested into the old version exotics, for instance more upgrade nodes.

Well this is just -blam!-ing dandy, I've spent the past week leveling and maxing 3 of each of the following: Atheons Epilogue, Vision of Confluence, Ice breaker, Vex Mythoclast, Fatebringer, and Corrective Measure. Now I have to redo the mythoclasts and ice breakers completely, and the other legendaries become obsolete.

Bungie is screwing the existing fan base on this DLC. If they want to make use re-level the exotics I hope they reduce the exp needed. Exotics take forever to level up. I will buy new exotics from xur and use the new guns for bounties, patrols, strikes until they are maxed out. What a crock of sh$t. Bungie should add a slot next to the existing tree to level up the guns to the new level. I don't mind grinding, but re-grinding gear from scratch is just plain wrong. How about two different nightfalls. The normal level 28 and a level 32. The exotics are only given out on level 32. 2 nightfalls you say? That's crazy. Add requiring crucible and vanguard marks is burdensome. I hate the crucible. Making me grind crucible is ridiculous. Bungie made the IB (and level 30 gear) due to the whining of the PVP fan base. They didn't want to grind the raid. Now I have to grind crucible?? Wtf. The beauty of the game was that I could play with lower level friends on missions and have fun. But after jump straight into a hard raid. If this is some attempt to try and level the playing field for new vs existing players, Bungie is making irrational decisions. Bungie do NOT make us RE-Level all the exotics. If you push this then I'll be leaving. Also everyone in my clan said the same thing. Not good Bungie, not good at all.

I don't plan on reforging my mythoclast because it already is maxed with 323 damage. But say you have an I upgraded ice breaker and an extra exotic shard kicking around. If you want you could reforge it if xur has it up and maybe get faster ammo recharge rate as well as 320 max damage. If you have a [b]MAXED ICE BREAKER[/b] then don't bother resetting all of it if it isn't worth the hassle to you. [b][u]YOU GUYS DO NOT NEED TO RESET TOUR EXOTICS IT IS NOT MANDATORY IT IS OPTIONAL[/u][/b] [u]THE only real bummer is that if you're wearing exotic gear, to keep up to date with the new light level you will most definitely have to reforge it from xur.[/u]

24 RepliesEdited by xBOOTNAZx: 12/3/2014 11:15:46 PMDoesn't take much to level them up.. Just cycle the weapons between your characters when you do the bounties. Think of it as an opportunity.. Instead of making all current weapons (for me big one is g-horn) obsolete, we have the opportunity to get (in my case) a 'new g-horn'.. 'New' as in its practically a new weapon, therefore the re leveling of it makes sense.. But worth it, or at least IMO. Cheers! Edit: lol never thought I'd get so many durp responses on this... Anyways, feel free to keep posting but I'm done responding to people since you clearly don't understand the update correctly if you're who this is directed towards

Was working on maxing all my exotics. Now I'm going to have to get as many bounties as I can over three characters all ready to hand in. Just to max my Gjallarhorn AGAIN.

Here's the thing, I wouldn't mind resetting my exotics and having to level them again. A lot of mine are leveled and maxed in xp. That being said I obviously have invested a good amount of time into bounties and material farming to be able to do this. So your telling me all of my time was wasted because a person that finds a new exotic can go to Xur and get the same upgrade that I have? I would think it would make sense to require the exotic item to be fully maxed or maxed in xp. That's my opinion so those of us that have invested the immense amount of time to upgrade our exotics aren't just told it was all pointless.

67 RepliesWOW! This is the dumbest idea ever Bungie! As others have said, have you ever played an MMO/RPG before? You don't reset players progress, nothing will make them hate you more! Guess I have no reason to play the rest of the week then, as I WAS going to work on maxing my 10 exotic weapons! So that's 10 exotics I'll have to break down into shards just to keep the 10 I have?! Or pay 70,000 glimmer?! Seriously wtf?! At least I only have one maxed, feel bad for those people who have several exotics maxed, all those HOURS of work they did, now deemed worthless by the Bungie gods. Seriously, way too amazingly drop the ball again! You guys seemed on track to get better with last couple patches and now just lost all that credit and goodwill.

2 RepliesWell if you sorta think about it, idk if you guys have played WoW or maybe Diablo, this is sorta normal in a new dlc. You have to get new gear and really all the old stuff is sorta left behind. Only difference is that you have just redo it instead. Might be annoying and tedious, but it shouldn't detract from the game, and I'm still gonna play this game an enjoy it no matter what.

7 RepliesI think there is a bit of an overreaction to this right now. Who's making you level up ALL your exotics again? More than likely you're going to get new equipment that you will level instead of your old/current gear. The only exotic I have maxed right now that I think I would upgrade is my Ice Breaker (don't have Gjallarhorn). Otherwise, I plan on leveling new gear.

Not a huge deal. Eris will have bounties for us as well. 18 bounties to get exp will level up gear in no time
