So you're going to make us re-level all our exotics in the DLC?
I'm okay with the upgrading exotics through RNG/Xur a week and the glimmer cost, but making us re-level the whole damn weapon/armor? Maybe I might be getting my panties in knots over nothing but seems kind of counter productive.
I know, I know it doesn't take that long to level a piece of gear up, but couldn't they just add more nodes to the tree?

EDIT: Seems people are thinking I am advocating a free ride to the new version exotics, I am not. I want some kind of work involved in that respect. I would like to seem some compensation for the time/materials/work invested into the old version exotics, for instance more upgrade nodes.

Pick which ones you truly want to level up. Or, hopefully you'll get a duplicate before next week. Upgrade and level that one, keeping your maxed one until the new one surpasses it.

10 RepliesNo one is making you do anything. Keep your exotics at 300 if you'd like. You can upgrade them if you choose to. It's a choice.

Bungie wants us stick around with game for a very long time they could give us the patch for not farming materials on day one but it was according to the plan they will patch this after a few month once the dlc has had its time.....

don't like this at all, telemetrys don't give enough of a bonus to re-level exotics need the option to just burn a shard to upgrade exotics that are already maxed, or a refund for all the shards and energy wasted

Fcuk this shyte we will have to do this again when the next expansion comes out. I maxed out a lot of exotics and legendaries and I hated doing the same lame ass bounties over and over again -blam!- the grind...boring as -blam!-

4 RepliesArmors brain dead easy to level up, all you have to do is wear it. Guns are harder but here's a pro tip: do all the bounties to level it up, give it to another character, do bounties again, if you have a third character repeat process. It's so easy.

To those that are outraged you are acting as if you have completed the game! Those exotics you so proudly wield are not actually end game weapons, there never will be as long as you want the game to progress (10 year plan ring any bells?). Honestly calm down, you know you will grind again so stop all the whinging. What you seem to forget is that there will be newer and perhaps even better weapons than the available weapons now, we could even get a better weapon than the Icebreakers and the Gjallahorns and reminisce about how nooby the current ones were! Also remember that as well as new weapons and armour there will be new content. So you won't be just grinding the same bounties, stories and raids again. Would you rather play the game with no reward or xp gain? Just blindly completing content for no reason because you have reached all your level caps? The game is only a few months old, the exotics you have now will be old news in time to come, and if they didn't become then you would whinge all the more!

4 RepliesI find it fair. All of my exotics were maxed BEFORE patch. So I never wasted an exotic shard on them So to get a stronger better item, you have to trade it in. It's fair. It's better than having to grind for another chest/helm with 156 intellect. Cuz I have gear with those high ass stats and I wouldn't wanna lose them.

2 RepliesNo they are not going to "make" you. It's an option to give it a higher attack than 300, say 323 like the Vex. If you choose to do so, just know that you're going to need to level it up again. Your choice.

Going to make you no. They are giving people the option to do so. It's the same as with all higher tiered gear. If you want that higher tier piece you need to obtain/upgrade it and then fully level it.

Do you guys realize fully upgrading your weapon is a prerequisite to opening the ability to take it past its current damage? Do you really want the dlc to come out and have everything done for you? Just one simple upgrade and its done? everyone can complain about paying for a dlc with no content? Just pretend like your exotic has double the amount of little green circles in the tree and move on. If they gave you a new gun you would have to grind that one too? For people who love vids you sure complain about having to play vids a ton.
