I'm almost to 150 Vanguard marks for the first time since hitting rank 3 and still don't own a legendary primary due to lack of time to play. I'm not sure what rifle is the best overall for the money. I currently am a warlock with maxed out voidwalker and nearly maxed sunsinger. I am in progress of aquiring bad juju through the bounty. I have light/beware fusion rifle, unfriendly giant, and just got gjallhorn yesterday. I preferred BR to DMR in halo but could probably use some range. I don't play much pvp but might enjoy it more if I had a better weapon. I also have 19 strange coins saved up so I could potentially buy and exotic primary from xur soon. Any help on what to get would much appreciated.

1 ReplyDon't buy anything - as Dec. 9th new more powerful legendary weapons come out at the Tower! Check the news section!

Shadow price Awesome for all aspects of the game. And all the weapon upgrades are awesome advantages for all aspects ( pvp and pve )
-
Shadow Price. I've had a few different Auto primary weapons (handcannon user), and it's the best to play with that you can purchase. I have Hard Light also and Shadow Price gives it a solid run for it's money. Good damage, good accuracy, and good control. But mine was a random drop, I'm not sure what perks it has from the vendor. But the basics of the gun are quite good!

If you can't wait till the new set of guns next week, I'd go for shadow price AR. Good solid gun, great range, good impact and controllable recoil.
-
Buy the devil you know, its amazing and i bought it like 2 days ago
-
3 RepliesI use Bad Seed Down PR all the time in PvE and PvP, other then Red Death, it's my favorite PR, and those two are about as close to HALO BR as you can get.
-
1 ReplyDefinitely planning on saving the strange coins for Dark Below. I don't think Bungie said there would be new legendary weapons and just new exotics. I could be wrong about that though. Just throwing it out there if it changes anyone's opinion. Also I'm pretty sure the pulse rifle's are out now

8 Repliesyou need 23 strange coins for xurs primary weapons just FYI. I have the RNG version of shadow price with glass half full perk. it's the only primary I use in the raid due to the fact it gets shit done. my raid set up is maxed shadow price, max void light/beware (also very dope) and a maxed gjallarhorn. The only legendary AR that gives it a run for it's money is the vanquisher lll but I still like my shadow price

ax.15643 or whatever the hell it is fires like the dmr its comparable to my aries nemeis x4...shadow price is one of the legendary auto rifles and I have heard good things about final boss as well
-
Wait for the DLC to drop, new weapons coming even if you didn't pruchase it.
-
Shadow price. It's pretty damn good imo.
-
Get the scout rifle that makes enemies explode when you shoot them in the head. Most fun in the game...
-
Get Shadow Prize. That is what your looking for. Also remember that in the Dark Below there's new weapons so maybe save those marks and see if there's another new AR that's more powerful than shadow?

2 RepliesShadow Price FTW

-

Edited by m00ninite: 12/3/2014 6:42:34 PMIt all depends what the upgrade tree looks like. Vendor weapons can change too so make sure you're buying a version of the gun that has the perks and upgrades you want. Example- Lord High Fixer for Crucible marks sometimes offers Send It to increase range and other times offers the reload speed upgrade instead. Always display weapon details and plan out how you want it to function by the time you unlock everything.

1 ReplySP for PVP A1 for PVE I am actually really surprised you are as high level as you are with out having a strong rifle.
-
Edited by xEllimist: 12/3/2014 6:58:15 PMI wouldn't buy Shadow Price to be honest. The perks are fairly lackluster compared to vendor bought Vanquisher and Grim Citizen. If you're deciding based solely on SPs base stats, it compares favorably to any AR in the game, Suros Regime included. With the right perks, SP can even beat SR. But the perks are what make the difference in a gun and vendor bought SP is weaker than other ARs If memory serves me correctly, the A1 scout rifle is among the best in the game AND has decent perks from the vendor. I've used both fairly extensively but my SP dropped(Vanguard level up package) with Perfect Balance(Near max stability) and Field Scout(Ups mag size from 25 to 42) but I haven't used it since getting Vision of Confluence. I would go with the A1 Steak Sauce

I love hand cannons. I have a hand cannon for each of my three characters.
-
Buy the shadow price its a god don't even look at the stats.
-
5 RepliesJust throwing this out there, but have you tried any Hand Cannons? The Devil You Know is an amazing legendary primary, IMO.

Shadow Price would be the way to go. But seeing as how you enjoyed the BR, a pulse rifle might be your thing. Lower fire rates with higher impact would be the way to go. When I was in your shoes, I went with Shadow. I do not remotely regret that decision. For an all around useful tool, it can't be beat.

Shadow price. Good overall gun.
