How to get rid off error code for good!
What you need to do is to contact you service provider, for me its Comcast(xfinity). whenever your on the phone with an representative ask them to change your signal strength, they say my signal was on channel 7 and they bump my to Chanel 11 (keep in mind that i was able to play other games on channel 7 even COD) it seem that Destiny require more signal strength in order to function properly. Since i had the change i have never( and i mean Never...got an single error code). The guy told me that a higher signal strength will keep the game from going down constantly. also keep in mind this will not affect your monthly billing in anyways. Destiny use to be unplayable up to weeks, since then the game its smooth no ERROR CODES. I did not find this myself, it was a Comcast representative that suggest that to me, because i ask him to change my NAT type from strict to open, and he thought i was stupid(He did not know what was an NAT type)
Hope this Help

1 ReplySilly peopl, I work for the cable company as an engineer and there's no way to "boost" your signal strength over the phone, not to mention more signal isnt always a good thing, certain equipment needs to be hit at certain levels, too much or too little is not good

Edited by SnakeDoc518: 12/20/2014 2:27:22 PMthis is the most ridiculous thing i've ever heard.... having worked in cable for years, what you describe is silly to me. firstly, the broadband cable internet you have doesn't operate in the way you describe. there are set "channels" or frequencies reserved for internet traffic. typically, one will be reserved for normal, basic speeds, and then several others will be reserved for higher speeds...so say "channel 7" is reserved for basic broadband service, and "channel 11" is reserved for the higher tier, faster broadband.....if the CSR switched you to the high frequency, then that would require a plan change...so either they misrepresented what they did for you, or they switched you to a more expensive plan, without actually telling you that they were switching you to a more expensive plan....given it's comcast, i can't say that would surprise me. in any event, you wouldn't be able to play some games on regular speed, and others on the higher....nothing about this post makes any sense at all.. btw, a CSR should know what NAT Type is...if they don't then they suck at their job, and you should talk to their supervisor. i'm fairly certain you're trolling...

Edited by forkless: 12/4/2014 7:20:55 PMYou failed for playing with WiFi in the first place. No channel is safe from interference. It's just the nature of FM.

What you need to do is to contact you service provider
lol ... no ISP can fix bungie crap releases. "We are aware that many players are experiencing MONKEY errors after the 1.0.2.3 patch" So how did your ISP cause bungie to introduce another error during a patch? "After the 1.1 patch players began seeing WASP" Again ... your ISP did this how? Just because bungie try to blame ISP (was university sysAdmins, but that got called a lie - so next target) does NOT make it true. How stupid would you have to be to believe that bugs appearing after a patch release are caused by some evil plan of ISP's across the world?? And I guess you also believe that they only target bungie piece of poop ... other more popular games go unaffected, even with a MUCH larger player base. Nah ... bungie have lost Microsoft's control and is failing at every turn.

Edited by shadowgaze72: 12/4/2014 1:05:45 AMThey realty need to put this on the front of the case so that people who potentially buy the game will know what they have to do or what they could be in for, I suppose that would ruin sales though huh!?

14 RepliesThank you for sharing your experience with the community! We are happy to hear you are able to connect to Destiny.

I think you got lucky. I dont think there is anything we can do to fix caterpillar code every five min. Only had this problem after the update.

Apparently changing the signal strength requires me to 'upgrade' by paying for more.

1 ReplyWhat he is talking about is changing the wifi channel on the router (assuming you are using wifi to connect your xbox -and if you are you should know it is not ideal for gaming anyway). Many manufacturers of routers set G wifi to channel 6, and therefore anything set to 5 or 6 or 7 will be less than ideal generally speaking. Your cable company is not needed at all to do this, your router has instructions that tell you how to do it. Ideally, one should use a wifi scanner such as netspot for mac, or inssider for windows, from a location near your xbox. You will then see which channels have the least use and set your channel to that.

Edited by Neighoff: 12/3/2014 1:29:05 PMFirst and foremost does your router support uPNP? If so make sure it is on. This sets up the port forwarding like features needed for connections. If you cant find that then see if you can setup a static/reserve ip to the xbox mac address in your router. Then first use the dmz option , if all works then you need to set port forwarding manually if you dont have uPNP. If you have uPNP and it is on then going off dmz should correct itself if not then routers support of uPNP is weak and again you have to setup port forwarding manually. Additional info: With services like Comcast, they now pump their free wifi throught your cable modem (seen as xfinitywifi on wifi analyzers) the channel or signal changing from their end is either switching their free wifi to remove its interference on the onhouse channel used or the other way around (doubtful). Also if you dont lock down and change default settings of the router then it is possible to hack into your wifi and eat bandwidth. I use mac address controlled access to insure just the devices I authorize are getting access to my wifi and its network. This feature option is NOT found on the Comcast cable modem/router that is why I use my own router. And yes wifi and gaming with xbox does not work well since it use 2.4 ghz freq range and less than g/n band speeds... wired is better. The NAT type: From a recent experience with this msg it is sole based on the uPNP features of your router. If they are off and port forwarding is used then you have to adjust manually. If uPNP is on then check how lock down the option is ... ie is users allowed to adjust settings via uPNP if not then let it be such. If it is set then there other issues with your router not alllowing for the change on demand again verified via dmz option.

I just hard wired the router strait to the xbox and it is still craping all over me
