Seven years later...

Yesterday, my account here on Bungie.net finally hit 7 years old. (Although my profile still says 6. Fix your stuff, Bungie) Given that I guess it's time for the obligatory "7 Years" post. I'll try to keep it short and sweet, since most folks here probably don't recognize me other than as a somewhat frequent poster, and it suits me better since I'm usually pretty quiet anyway. The title here might actually be a bit misleading. While I first joined Bnet back in '07, I wasn't actively involved in the forums until a little over 2 years ago. I decided to pop in on Bungie.net on Bungie Day 2012, as I did every year, just to see if anything interesting would happen. As I read through the forums, I found the folks to be welcoming and friendly, so I started posting a little as well. I'm happy to say that I enjoyed my experience at the time, and after mailsacks, Community Carnages, Christmas gifts, requesting bans for Mythic members, and more, I'm pleased to have stuck around. The forums have certainly undergone their fair share of change. It hasn't always been easy. The community has had its ups and downs as the forum changed to accommodate Destiny. But it's still alive and well if my constant group chat notifications are to be believed. And I don't think that's going to change any time soon- these forums will always attract those who are looking for the same things I was when I decided to stick around here. To make friends, and to play games. Thanks to all the older folks who made this a great place to kick my feet up during the darkness, and thanks to everyone old and new that have been great people to play and chat with along the way. Thanks to groups like Community Carnage, DRAGONS, and more that have provided great ways to get involved with the community and make a lot of great friends. And of course, thank you to Bungie for giving us a place to hang out. Here's to the next seven years!
