• Go to network settings, write down all your IP addresses, Subnet mask etc. Then choose manual IP and set them all in manually just like you wrote them down (so they would not change very time when you restart your console). Then log into your router and forward the ports shown here: http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-360/networking/network-ports-used-xbox-live Done!

  • Make sure your modem has upnp enabled and your Xbox is outside DMZ (firewall)

  • Also using Ethernet directly from router to console may possibly work.

Google Destiny ports and your systems ports copy them in a notepad, open up your router and find port forwarding and enter them... If you are ducky with technology I'd advise asking your isp for a better router with the dmz or whatever function, or Google port forwarding and study up Edit*** Also you may need to set ip adress to static. see if your router supports universal plug and play and enable it and see if it works, if not then either get a new router or setup your router to assign a static IP address to your xb1, then setup your xb1 to use that static IP address and configure the router to do port forwarding for the following ports 88 (UDP), 53 TCP/UDP, 80 TCP, 3074 TCP/UDP, 16000 TCP/UDP, 3075 TCP/UDP. I had to go this route because although my router supported UPNP it was very flakey with XB1 so some times my NAT would be open and others not. Also before configuring your xb1 to use static IP take a note of the current settings for gateway/dns and use those same settings when you switch the XB1 over to manual settings, the only thing that will change is that your IP address will no longer be dynamic but you will pick it.

      • If you have tried everything in the networking help article and its still strict its probably your ISPs fault and then theres nothing you can do besides get a new provider(or maybe submit a complaint? idk if that would work)

      • You go to settings and test the multiplayer connection. When it is done click on the Right RB/RT and Left LB/LT triggers at the same time. It will think and then change the NAT to open. I had to do this for COD because I was on strict also and had to do this. Hope this helps, I found the video on Youtube and this is how I learned to change to Open NAT.
