Question for all you VoG Veterans: How hard is it to get Raid Gear?
I've only ever ran the raid twice, one being the one I did this morning. I was hoping to get a raid helmet or chestpiece that would go perfectly with my maxed exotic helmet or chestpiece and my IB 30 gear. However all I got was ascendants and the sparrow, which I'm actually pretty happy with. I was really low on ascendants and I had some upgrades available, and I can't wait to try out the Sparrow (although I'll still probably still mainly use the stunt sparrow), and I can always just try again next week. But how hard is it exactly? Because I really want to get them ASAP so I can play Hard Mode, get mythoclast, max it, and be ready for Crota's End.

Didn't read all the responses but you can only get helmet from hard raid. I got my hunters arms and chest the 2nd raid I did with him. On his 4th raid I got the same 2 pieces. Then I did IB to get the boots and of course as soon as I got the boots, my next raid the boots finally dropped for me. My titan, got r he chest piece 1st raid and the arms 2nd raid. Got the boots for him from IB as well directly after I got the arms from raid.

Been doing raid since launch and still no arms for hunter, warlock about 5 raids n full gear n titan 2 times on hard and no armor.

My warlock has done 15 runs, got everything but boots. (He's my primary) Titan took 3 runs Hunter took 1 hard. (Got head, chest, and bought boots from IB and already had ahamkara spine)

I've just been getting sparrows recently... 5 in the last 2 weeks alone... WTB vex. Edit that's 5 weeks total up to now; raiding with 2 Titans. (10 raids).

It all depends on your luck. It took me a while to get all raid gear on my titan. My very next hard raid after receiving all pieces, I got all 4 pieces again.

The helmet only cones from hard mode. That being said I've gotten 2 pieces (chest and hands) in 6 or 7 runs.

Still have yet to see boots for my warlocks... ib solved that problem for me though.

2 RepliesAll RNG man, my buddy got a full raid set after 2 normal raid runs. I got my full raid raid after my 42nd run, most of them being done on hard.

never do normal mode again and see your likeliness to obtain the rewards you seek skyrocket ….go ahead and take the training wheels off guardian...

It's all luck. I've run 3 and gotten 2 gloves and a pair of boots. My bf ran 6-7 and has everything but the helmet. Another friend has run 5 and has lots of raid guns but no armor.

Yeah, hard mode is incredibly rewarding. My first run with the titan I got the pieces of raid gear. Normal mode seems to be the fast track to chatterwhite and disappointment.

I didn't get anything till my 14th raid.

Hard mode is where it's at. Much better chances. Might take you 2-3 runs and it might take you 10....

Just random luck.. I was 29 forever and then the last 2 weeks I got all raid gear and mythoclast.

Hit and miss. I was 29 for ever. Just needed to get those damn legs! Raid after raid then finally legs!!! I was pumped. Lol. Since then, I've gotten 3 more and a shit load of other gear. Kinda pisses me off. Keep grinding! But in two weeks you will want the new raid shit anyways.

My Hunter took a few weeks to hit 30. I have a lvl 29 titan and have raided on hard the last 4 weeks and only got boots. Rng is rng

How lucky are you? That's the real question.

1 ReplyConsidering the system is completely random and contains shards and energy, chances are you'll be doing the raid for a while before you get a full set of raid gear. Not to mention that the helmet only drops from hard mode atheon.

I keep getting goddam gloves or boots every week, which I ALREADY HAVE!!! So due to Bungie's amazing RNG loot system, i'm stuck at 29 and completely at their mercy until the helm or chestpiece drops :(
