I'm an American - I prefer running VoG with British or other European people
Anyone else feel this way? They just tend to be more...pleasant than rando Americans.
Americans are like all loud and "-blam!- ya! 'murica baby!" and Europeans are all like "greetings mate, would you care to partake in an Aetheon run?"
[b]Edit 1: [/b]Sorry to the Americans that are offended by this. Honestly it didn't even occur to me that anyone would be genuinely upset. It's just an online game, and I don't think there is much room for patriotism in it.
[b]Edit 2:[/b] "American", "British", and "European" are not races. In fact, I know more than one British person whose race is "asian"

6 RepliesAs an American who tends to mimic accents rather well.. You get those moments when you play with two friends, one who is British, and the other is Dutch.. I always tended to use the Australian accent with the Dutch chap, and a British accent with the British friend.. Then of course, they hopped into the same lobby. Upon discovery of my mimicry, they both asked what I really sounded like. I decided to use the stereotypical African Drug lord accent for that. I think I made my friends laugh too hard, as one soiled themselves.

1 ReplyHahaha seeing how everybody from different countries sees each other in this thread is actually pretty funny! Personally I'm, that stoner American that just likes to have fun. My first raid completion was actually with a group of people from USA, England, and Ireland. Hearing everybody's accent and different lingo was the best part! I always try to have a multi-cultural team. That's when it's the most unique and entertaining!

1 ReplyI'm hungarian, playing from 10pm to 2am, so almost always play with americans. Usually they think I'm russian or ukrainian because of my accent. I must say though, when I tell I'm from Hungary and I get the " hungry? make yourself a sandwich dude" joke, it gets old fast.

For me it's the other way around. I'm from Holland, but the best runs in the VoG I've had were with Americans. They were very nice and helpful throughout the raid. We talked much and some dude was hitting the bong once every while, which made him play better. My experiences with people from Europe is that they tend to just leave when it's not going too wel. Americans are much more determined on that aspect. So I guess we should team up :D

I'm irish, but for some reason I've ended up playing destiny with a few groups of Americans. They're all very nice, except a few but what can you do. Although it's hilarious when they figure out I'm Irish because they're just so surprised that anyone irish even plays.

Every country, race, religion, etc. has their kind and the cruel, ignorant & wise, cultured and uncouth...no single profile will fit any large sample of the world's population; one day you'll find people you enjoy speaking with that lives in the opposite hemisphere, and the next you'll find that quality in a neighbor. Focus on the positive, try not to profile. :-)

2 RepliesI'm English and once did a raid with 2 guys from Vegas, they were the most polite people i've met, instead of saying yeah they would say yes sir. An hour later I ended up in a game with 4/5 English who were absolute cretins, slating people if they didn't get things right first time. Theres two sides to every story.

Yeah, and talking about actual politics is easier with folks outside of America because they understand global implications and don't necessarily hear/believe the bullshit propaganda that gets fed to us on a daily basis. They're also less casually racist and bigoted, which is nice.

I never had the chance to Raid with other guys than French, i think there would be some language issues... :-( My french accent is so awful ! but i really enjoy to come here and exchange with players of all origins ! Destiny is improving my english level ! wish there was a boost for that xp too :-p

I'm a home grown all american, and I agree. Most Americans (not all) are stupid, unintelligent, ignorant, and self righteous people on the planet. Obviously the "most" consists of the younger generation that feels entitled to everything. Don't get me wrong I LOVE MURICA!!! But its citizens are something else.
