While all the others I feel are self-explanatory, I will explain why I feel Digital Downloads and Pre-Loading is wrong IMHO. The convenience is great that's obvious what may not be is it is not as competitively priced if they have a captive market, competition is good. Used game market will also die.
There may be others I have have missed or couldn't fit in, so please feel free to list other concerns you have if I have not included them or comment on the poll options above if you want.
Edit: Dishonourable mentions
Pre-orders & Day 1DLC
Split screen not being included as standard.

I didn't have internet one day and knew I couldn't play destiny So I went to play dragon age inquisition and to my surprise I couldn't play the story mode because it couldn't connect to the EA servers....... Bullshit
-
DLC that is insignificant or is a plain and simple map pack or 2 missions like Destiny and CoD. DLC's should be an extension that doesn't feel like it should've been in game already. A good example of how DLC's should be is BFBC2 Vietnam where we had a complete re skin at a cheap price and not the traditional 4 maps and a gimmick like in the newer CoD games.

Paid dlc. Put in micro transactions like gta V even though we don't have heists yet all dlc has been free. How ever you can bye money in that game. A good micro transaction for destiny would be glimmer shaders and emblems. IMO
-
All are bad, except the last one, some people cant find a game sometimes or they simply dont sell it around their area at the time. Dlc is debatable, day 1 dlc is bullsh!t, if its a dlc WAY down the games life time, if its done right to actualy expand the experiance, no rehashing, has good gameplay time, not too expensive, and is not a troll (im looking at u gearbox with ur wattle gobler headhunter dlc and granny tourges "raid boss" ) then its fine by me. Rockstar and the guys making witcher 3 tho, i can back them up saying thanks for the free dlc. Heists might be super late on GTA5 but they will still be free on both last and current get/next gen.

Games repeating over and over (ex. Cod)
-
You know, I must say that EA games don't bother. Yeah, they cut the game to shit before they sell it, but the past 15 titles have been extremely awesome. Mass Effect, Dead Space, Battlefield, and Dragon Age are among my favorite conglomerate games list. What annoys me is when a game releases with so little content it is inexcusable.
I know I'm beating a dead horse but DESTINY is a great example
Also, this new ALL ONLINE EXTRAVAGANZA thing needs to be done with better servers in mind, or not be done at all.

Micro transactions Examples:Madden 15 ultimate team coins,NBA 2k15 vc,candy crush,and assassins creed unity
-
Always online I always liked figuring the game out and playing the campaign first buy myself plus the constant spammings annoying as all he'll
-
Nintendo. Even with this last quarter's sales increases, they're still slipping. It's time for an HD Metroid game that utilizes dual analog sticks.
-
Unfinished/broken games, however non-dedicated servers are really frustrating as well. I'm looking at you MCC.

Edited by Silent Echo113: 2/13/2015 7:33:10 AMPre-ordering, while once a cool and innocent gesture has become a new beast in terms of game development. Game devs are putting out content that is unfinished or untested very frequently. This problem, while not entirely, stems from the Pre-order. Devs used to be able to push back a title as many times as neccessary to finish their creations before releasing it to the public. But now with the pre-order obsession devs are under Pressure by distributing companies to meet consumer deadlines. People tend to get pissed off if a product they paid for doesn't get delivered on time.
this is not the end all, be all arguement or observation about pre-order ing. Just one of the many facets of the industry "diamond."
Edit:spelling.

All the "required" dlc, and micro transactions everywhere

Edited by Jaraghan: 2/12/2015 8:43:08 AMTwo things really break it for me. -Games which players can spend money, and get advantages over those who don't pay. Just bullshit. -How developers/publishers think they can get away with broken games on release and patching it later. This could fall under pre-ordering, as the publishers will already have your money so they think it's fine. Those two things are just downright bullshit, and the latter borderline criminal in my eyes.
-
I'd say pre-ordering, which is closely related to unfinished and broken games.
-
Always online games, but I would have said pre ordering trends towards gaming if it was an option. When companies know that the money is flowing, they don't necessarily have to put out a good game.
-
Micro-transactions for sure.
-
Both unfinshed or broken games and micro transaction are verg concerning
-
Franchises that become mobile games or MMobile games :(
-
Mandatory I don't mind the micro transactions as much if I'm not doing anything competitive (Warframe for example) but as somebody struggling to keep bills paid sometimes,ya never know when certain luxuries may have to be cut for a little
-
I would say the lack of variety, or placing certain genres only on handheld devices. Tactics Ogre comes to mind, which is similar to Final Fantasy Tactics. Turn based strategy games, or turn based RPGs are things I wish had the backing of a large studio for console games.
-
The homogenization of genres. Everything is slowly becoming an MMOFPSRPG action/adventure with some puzzle and some hack & slash sequences, including competitive and cooperative multiplayer modes.
-
DLC, I mean if i'm getting a game that $100 (i'm in Australia games are usually $100 give or take) why do I have to pay more.
-
Micro transactions are pissing me off at the moment so in gonna say that. Otherwise, I would choose paid DLC or unfinished games
-
My opinion has changed recently. I feel the communities have steadily become more toxic pieces of shit over time.
-
Definitely broken/unfinished games. Micro transactions would be up there but, it may just be me, they seem on the decline (AAA games). Also more games need split screen.
