Xur Fanfiction

ITT: THIS IS MY DEEP FANFICTION ON XUR. IT MAY EXPLAIN A LOT OF DEEP AND HIDDEN THINGS ABOUT HIM. PLEASE READ AND ENJOY :) -Blocksystem Once upon a time, there was an man. He belonged to a group known as "The Nine": this man's name was "Xur." He had a very wonderful face, which was well known around the galaxy: it is said he was blessed by the Traveller as a child. However, one day, a terrible thing happened to him. While on a research project for the Nine, as he was developing and researching blueprints for a very powerful weapon long lost, when he was ambushed by a massive army of Vex- including Hobgoblins and Minotaurs. Xur fought tooth and claw with every weapon in his arsenal- Gjallarhorn, The Last Word, Plan C, Ice Breaker, Patience and Time, Suros Regime, Thunderlord, and more- until he was down to the last cluster, a massive group of 15 Praetorian minotaurs. However, just as he ran out of ammo, he realized there were still 7 Minotaurs left- his synthesis packs were in cooldown, and icebreaker wasn't regenerating fast enough. So he did the last thing he could, he pulled out Patience and time, and immediately set himself invisible, blending in with the environment, hoping, praying the Praetorians would not notice him. They began spraying their shots everywhere, in every nook and cranny, desperately trying to defeat this one being that had slaughtered a million of their Vex bretheren just previously. Xur fled, and hid in the only safe place: the center of the group. Then suddenly, there was a disaster: explosions everywhere, praetorian parts sceeching around at the speed of sound, massive bangs and clashes of light, a supernova of epic proportions happening all within an instant- 7 fusion grenades at once and 3 triple-nova bombs all launched at once to instantly slaughter and vaporize the Praetorian minotaurs, and end their reign immediately. The only survivor was Xur, feeling the heat of the molten metal around him, barely seeing with his now glowing yellow eyes from the dazing flashes of fusion grenades. His skin was deformed and poisoned from gamma radiation and the power of the nova bombs. But alas, he lay there, barely alive, as the warlock squad rushed down to save him. Xur was no longer himself. His face deformed, his body mangled and kept together only from his own deep magical powers, and the energy radiating off of his massive supply of exotic materials. He developed a mysterious interest in strange coins, which supposedly held the secret within them, with their strange buzzing, that could one day return his power and his once stunning appearance, and which held an even deeper value with the secretive Nine that he was in a contract deal with. Ever since the incident, he has hated Warlocks with a burning passion: he has even visited the bar in the bottom corner of the tower from time to time, viewing from behind the counter all the girls who had once lusted for him and his luxurious looks. His only remnant of his once great reputation was his massive supply of exotics, which he kept with him in small amounts as to not attract attention. He would offer these to guardians in exchange for the material he loved: strange coins, which were said to be able to magically resurrect, or convince the Nine into resurrecting, his former glory in existence. And yet he has still hated Warlocks, the one thing that he felt more passionately for than returning his former status in glory. He despised them even more than the relief he felt at receiving strange coins: not even a deep internal hatred for them all, but a spread out burning vengeance on the many for the actions of those few: a powerful grudge, almost playful, in return for the mistakes of those warlocks who had unintentionally committed the disfiguring acts on him. And thus, was the vengeance of Xur: he has sworn to always give warlocks the Sunbreakers and Voidfang Vestments, laughing at their weeping tears each week as he sees them cry over their lack of good exotics :')
