Please limit the amount of special ammo in PVP
There is a pretty obvious need to dull down the amount of special ammo on multiplayer maps. If you go into rumble or skirmish (lower populated game types) the only weapons anyone seems to be using are shotguns and fusion rifles. I understand the majority of people who play multiplayer suck, but seriously?! It gets very frustrating when you are constantly shotgun rushed or killed by the noob's best friend, pocket infinity over and over.
I suggest that on death all of your special weapon ammo is lost the same way that heavy is lost. That way the people (scrubs) who seem to only own a special weapon will have to go find more ammo instead of being able to run straight into the fight and shotgun someone die then do it all over again. Another suggestion would be to put a much longer timer on the special ammo crates. My last suggestion would be to limit the amount of ammo picked up from the special ammo crate to only one magazine with no reserve ammo from that one crate. You would still be able to run to another crate to get reserve ammo though.
You said it yourselves Bungie, that you didn't want any one weapon to be the go to weapon or end all weapon. Well you still have that going on where shotguns and fusion rifles are the most used weapons in multiplayer. These are secondary weapons which means they should have much lower amounts of ammo so that they are restricted to the amount of use out of them. They should really only be used in a situation where you are in trouble, not where these no skillers only run around with them and act as if they are primary weapons.
Even though you said you have nerfed the shotgun and fusion rifle I still get killed by them more than anything. The shotgun is self-explanatory, everyone who has no skill runs around with it and slide shotgun or shotgun melees people. As for the fusion rifle, I am still getting killed by them from a ridiculous distance. I will be in a battle where we are so far apart that my auto rifle is doing lower than normal amounts of damage but some scrub with a fusion rifle can one shot me from the exact same distance. I really don't know what you were thinking by creating and implementing a weapon into the game that is a shotgun that has the range of a precision weapon, smh.

People would still have fairy easy access, but it would stop people from running around using them like primaries.. It is somewhat annoying since shotguns and fusion rifles are the main culprits and they both take very little aim and are 1 hit kills.

Special weps are basically primarys. I'd love to see special ammo only used when its really needed. But alas the shotgun and fusion rifle are king in this game

Shotgun on rumble or skirmish... My friend I have been in worse... People using unlimited fireborn glitch plus heavy ammo glitch plus fusion grenades everywhere.. My invective kill spread went from 11 to 2

2 RepliesYou don't have to worry about the pocket infinity anymore. They nerfed it to where it only fires 1 round per second in auto fire. Which is f*cking stupid on my opinion seeing as its an exotic and not a f*cking rare weapon. You should be more worried about rates cause they're a lot better close range than the pocket infinity.

I agree. Too much special weapon ammo. Snipers, fusion, and shotguns all cover different distances so take your pick and run that the whole match.

I think they intended the special ammo to be readily available. That's how they envisioned their Pvp. This post mimics many previous ones. I think they've seen the suggestion but very likely will not address it further.

2 RepliesI agree with everything said. Especially fusion rifles need a nerf. Another problem is the poor map design that encourages close quarter combat and thus shotgun abuse. I hate rumble because of these reasons.

Couldn't agree more. Also the map design is leaning towards CQB (this game ain't CoD Bungie...) so running around with a shotgun all day makes sence. However aiming well to get a kill is way more fun, therefor I believe a) damage of specials should be lowered/ damage of primary should be upped or b) special ammo should be more "rare" like heavy ammo so people will use it more when the situation demands a close range high damage output weapon.

1 ReplyI think the problem is less the weapons themselves, and more the map design in PvP. Close quarters, and clutter in more open areas, supports close range weapons well. Tons of narrow, linear spaces makes fusion rifles far more powerful. The list goes on.

5 RepliesWell as much as I would love that idea I am sorry that will just hurt you even more. Imagine a rumble games that are already dominated by people like me that usually go 5+ killing spree or more multiple times how do you expect to kill them with only them having special ammo since there controlling the game purposely. With that idea the only real 3 ways is super them, use heavy ammo, or kill them with a granadas help.
