A message to the underwhelmed...

Ok, Idk if this has been posted already, but idc b/c I'm tired of seeing hate posts for exotic weapons from bounties. It's ridiculous and many (not all) complaints are setting the growth of this game back. Yes this is a correction post for the "it's OP" or/and the "it's trash it needs a buff" crowd. I want to start off with the belief that exotic weapons are supposed to be better in every way(or most, or even better at all) on the Stat line compared to legendaries. This is clearly a myth I seen that wasn't Bungie's intent within a few days of using exotics. Exotic doesn't mean better, it's more closely related to unique, which in my experience, is true for every last exotic. That said I want to also make a point that not everyone plays the same and in the game of Destiny there are various combinations of loadouts. Each weapon type has at least 2-3 sub types that excel in tailored situations(will touch on that later). Also I want people to keep in mind that exotics are usually best used in situations where their unique(exotic) ability is favored. Meaning Bungie intends for you to have to switch exotic weapons eventually (hence u only have 1 slot for an exotic, and the fact that this game has elemental damage bonuses) Now time to break down some of the exotic items. THORN Problems: Reload Speed Clip Size Impact/Damage MotD (Damage over Time) does not stack. Solutions: -Equip special gauntlets to increase hand cannon reload speed &/or switch to a subclass w/increased reload speed (if available, i.e. Titan Defender -I do agree the Thorn could use more bullets, but at the same time considering DoT does not Stack, it's better to shoot sparingly with this gun instead of letting loose like u would with a Devil you know -The impact and damage may be underwhelming, but if you factor in the DoT, then the actual Damage it does per bullet is actually higher than most other guns, plus DoT is poisonous, thus if u shoot an enemy whose close to other enemies, the damage spreads (minimally I'll admit, but it's still awesome) It may not be good for a lot of situations, but for some instances it's irreplaceable(i.e. fighting Mars Strike Boss, and 10 cabal majors with shields corner you off under some stairs.) Learn to use your weapons properly. I will admit a buff such as the DoT being able to stack would balance out this gun's shortcomings. Next, SUPER GOOD ADVICE Problems: Recoil is bad Clip Size for a high rate of fire MG is sorta avg Solutions: -Burst fire (which I DONT suggest) OR u could ADAPT and learn that most guns with bad recoil in this game tend to bounce upwards after firing, thus you compensate by aiming lower than you normally would -Since u can't just increase the mag size, I suggest using the gun as intended, which Is suppression fire! You are not supposed to use SGA as u would other MG, simply because of the missed shot feature. Meaning stop trying to be accurate and think of "crowd control"(which is another perk of this weapon which is overlooked). The SGA in pvp when used correctly is a hard weapon to counter, sorry that many of you are struggling grasping the concept that this gun Wants you to miss, for a reason. Next, BAD JUJU All I will say about this weapon is its best used against weaker mobs like thrall, drags, goblins, etc. The instant reload feature is awesone, so awesome in fact that They felt the need to nerf the clip size, which is understandable because if u can't manage to kill someone with 1 clip then you need to learn how to reserve ammo better or use ur plan b and c(grenades, heavy, special, etc etc). Pulse rifles are not the best type of weapon for hardly any situation, most are UP compared to Autos and Scouts, but that's not the issue at hand. The juju Is just misunderstood on top of having the luck of being a pulse rifle. Next, POCKET INFINITY (Idk how people don't see this weapon as top 3 in the game.) Problems: Charge rate Clip Size Range/impact Solutions Fully Auto upgrade paired with Stability, simple as that. Yes the wizard and other fusions have better Stat lines, but no other fusion rifle shoots Like the pocket, the damage per sec when fired in full auto os only comparable to another full auto fusion, a full auto shotgun, a rocket launcher, or a high rate of fire MG. And even then the pocket will win moreau of the time in amln experienced players hands (yes I've destroyed Vex users in pvp with it, and wizards are like thrall when facing the pocket). It takes getting used to the timing, but the power output and Range is unmatched. Next, INVECTIVE Problems: Mag size Stability I agree this weapon is damn near pointless if u get ur hands on an auto raid shotgun, the raid version had much Better stats and a larger clip. That said the invective regenerates ammo, thus making it invaluable because you will always have special ammo for your sniper if u switch to invective and switch back when u regenerate ammo. This feature alone has saved me in crucible on many occasions and on strikes and raids. But I still will concede that the raid shotgun is better all around, but the invective is more handy to have. Edit: I forgot to mention the fact that the invective last bullet does a considerable amount of extra damage. That paired with the full auto feature means that if u can get the rhythm to only reload 1 bullet, than u will have a very strong shotgun (and because of the full auto feature it shoots instantly even in the middle of the reload). I've used this cheese on many Bosses such as the archon priest, and it's useful online too in 1v1 situations when used right. Covered all the exotic bounty weapons so there's another plus for the invective. I may edit or add to this post but ive been wanting to post this for a minute due to me constantly seeing posts complaining about these weapons. Yes they could use a small buff here and there, but none of these weapons shortcomings are deal breakers, plus all of these weapons can be obtained múltiple times withless "luck" than other exotics. I could have had 4 invective by now, which when dismantled equates to asendant energy we all need. So please guys let's be a Little more "conservative" and selective in the forums when complaining. Ever heard the boy that cried wolf? Well I've seen many games be destroyed by nerfs and buffs that the devs only implemented to please the masses (the few 1000 people upset who actually post here, cuz let's be honest how much good feedback do u guys leave? I know I'm more likely to leave feedback after a bad experience I wont lie about that. And again this is a thread by a guardian/gamer who's opinion may not matter to u, but I still can't help but to correct this awful direction these forums are going.
