Aren't hipsters unoriginal?

My brother told me a story how he used to talk to this hipster girl back in college and he asked her if she like some song and she was like no it's to mainstream after that he thought oh my god I cant believe she just said that. I thought that was just a stereotype but by hipsters refusing to like a song since it's "to mainstream" doesn't it make that way of thinking "to mainstream" contradicting themselves when they say that or choose not to like something just for the fact that it's mainstream?

I find it humorous how hipsters and "social justice warriors" claim to be unique, special snowflakes, yet they dress the same, frequently have rainbow-dyed hair, wear thick rimmed glasses, reject anything "mainstream" to the point that their rejection is mainstream in of itself, all seem to be based in San Fransisco, believe in the same ideology, and so on. Yeah, "unique, special snowflakes" my ass.
