Learn to hold relic or youre worthless.
Learn it or GTFO. Sick of these noobs trying to join VOG hard and cant use the relic. WTF nerds
Edit: Im more patient with people in normal mode because i understand they may be new to raid. But when they get to hard they need to kno the relic or they are leaching.
Getting more support then i thought. Keep it going and maybe these leaches will learn!

I agree with some of this. If you're in the hard raid than you need to understand all the mechanisms of each encounter. If you don't, at least be honest and speak when joining a fireteam. I love when I get to help others learn something, however it is frustrating to see 30's in a PuG not grab the relic when they are the highest level player that was ported because "I don't grab the relic". I know that I personally ran normal A LOT until I understood everything before going into hard, then once Bungie decided to randomize his teleports I went back down to norm to learn how to use the relic. If you truly want to be an asset to your team, learn everything about the raid BEFORE stepping in. YouTube university is a great place to learn. Please don't just continue to allow others to carry you. Obviously this post is directed at the few who still have no idea about the relic mechanics who step into hard. IMO I think this also contributes to the LF30 only groups, as it's more likely other 30's know how to use relic. On the off chance you get that 30 who cheesed his gear and has no idea what they're doing, they're should be enough experience to overcome his deficiency.

51 RepliesEdited by MegatrawnXXX: 11/20/2014 12:27:15 AMso this is raiding to you? pathetic. first time I ever did bungie's "hard" mode we did the entire raid in 41 minutes, with 2 30's 2 28's and a 27 the other spot was open because someone disconnected and I didn't feel like going through the pool of your so called "raiders" and fill a spot. if this is hard mode, heroic, challenging, then yeah you my friend are a noob. the entire raid just seems like the last part of a terrible bungie game on mid difficulty. raiding is hours of endless wipes, and attempts, only to finally get one boss down and move to progressing on another. raiding is taking a month or 2 just to get a 6 boss raid on farm. first time I ever did vog on normal none of us knew what we were doing, watching videos and reading strats works for some but I am a hands on raider, my methods have worked for over 12 years raiding in various games. so we enter, hour later I walk out level 30, next week I get the 2 weapons. fun fun. but go ahead and call people noobs, and nerds, and what have you, and seek more co signing support in a game that doesn't have any raids, vog is just a bigger strike with more bosses. you my friend are the noob, seeking glory in a game 90% of the gaming community laugs at. but be pro my friend, be pro.

Time and time again I hear people complain about how so and so doesn't know how to do this and it caused a wipe. I've done the raid 4 times this week already and everyone I run with knows how to do their job but we ALL had to learn. Which means at one point we all had to teach each other and when we pull in a random that asked nicely if we can help him/her do the raid we offer tips and advice and don't instantly anger if he/she causes a wipe. I've had plenty of lvl 29's who haven't done the raid ask for help and it was given. I know having a person that doesn't know such and such can be frustrating but its equally frustrating for them to be the weak link, less you think they enjoy failing and dying. There have also been times when we've carried people though the hard mode raid. It can be done if your good enough which I am happy to say we are. In doing so we make more friends granted they may be noobs when it comes to the raid but they eventually learn and become as good as or in some cases better than us. To see this happen makes me happy.....to all those who don't know how to do the raid and see this post know that not all lvl 30s think as OP does. We all were noobs at some point...... remember where you came from OP

I agree in hard you should be able to use it to get the job done, no need to be an expert, just be able to kill 1 menator on Venus and goblins if need be, every other time others can use it if they want

The Relic isn't even hard to use. Just have them take about 20-30 seconds to learn what all the buttons do. lol

1 ReplyI honestly don't know why people don't WANT to learn it. Using the relic is fun. Bashing the crap out of minotaurs and hobgoblins is a refreshing change of pace from just shooting everything. And it's so similar to using the sword of crota, I don't get why people act like they're afraid of it.

1 ReplyAgreed, though normal is pretty bad too. Had a normal group with my alt 26, which if you've tried relic at below 28 is not a one shot on hobs, so should not be done, and not one person knew how to use relic... I'm a frickin 26 taking the relic over a 28-29 Cmon now

Level 28 warlock continuously throws fusion grenades. I tell them to switch to solar and pulse respectively, got ignored. I ended up having to push him off solo with pulse grenades. Moral: you can't even be sure that high level peeps know their shit.

Yes! It's not that hard people. If you have done the sword of crota mission, you should know how to use the relic; minus the cleansing part of course, but that's easy!

3 RepliesYa, learn a raid mechanic right now or GTFO, this is definitely going to work. I think if everyone had this attitude PUG's would suck even harder than they do now. Just because someone doesn't know how to run the relic doesn't mean that should keep them out of raids, it means the complete opposite. They need multiple attempts to learn how far their splash damage will go, when to time supers, when to cleanse on/if enrages occur. PATIENCE.

2 RepliesDo "Sword of Crota" if you want practice for relic. Only difference is your grenade will be replaced with the cleansing bubble.

Agreed, nothing is more annoying when you do a few time stream runs perfectly, then you hear the three that teleported yelling "you take the relic", "no you". If your a 30, you need to be running for the relic everytime.

The worst part is, killing shit with the relic the the FUNNEST part of the raid. People that won't pick it up are missing out!

People need to stop seeing it as a burden. Have fair in your self grow some balls and grab that relic without hesitation and play your role in the victory. If you do this more people will want to play with you and they will treat you better.

I learned how to use it within seconds the first time I used it. Just pay attention to what other people do with it.
