Destiny's HALLOWEEN 'event' - Are you KIDDING ME?
So let me get this right. Destiny does Halloween...
- A pumpkin head consumable (bugged)
- A respawn asthetic consumable (random drop from hive?)
- A few new speeders (same model, new flaming skins and a barrel roll?)

Your efforts here are so lazy, you shouldn't have even bothered. Yeah, to those who are starving out there for content, your cracker was considered a welcome addition.
But to gamers who are used to better, this is just flat out a pathetic disappointment.
You promoted the crap out of your game as this living, breathing ever evolving world with a 'reason to login' every day and continual flow of content that you 'never get bored'
This is just ridiculous.
Yeah I get that you're not this big MMO experience... you're a 'shared world shooter' and all that.
But you have taken so many design elements from the MMO genre that people seriously cannot tell the difference. A game experience is a game experience and you can say 'we're not X' all you like, if you play down the line like a MMO that's what people are going to compare you to and compared directly to even the most modest shared world social gaming experiences out there, this is yet again just another clear example of how poor your implementation is.
Given that and your own claims on what level of content we [i]should[/i] expect I'm embarrassed for your team that you still just cannot get the basics right.
Oh, I have those expectations wrong? Yeah, some might claim that. People have short memories (especially fanboys who think Bungie can do no wrong) but the weight of your legacy only carries you so far to an objective mind.

Even Runescape had events for every holiday. Like a ridiculous amount of content just for it.

Minecraft gave everyone a free Halloween Texture pack (not a skin mind you, a texture pack). Free on a game that is over a year old. Free on a game I paid 20$ bucks for and I am STILL happy to play.

6 RepliesHe's not bashing the game because of Halloween event, you imbeciles. Lack of content is a theme with Destiny. All anyone who defends this game can say is, "if you don't like it don't play." I'm going to get my characters to level 30 and play something else, and the only reason I'll do that is because the only thing this game got right is the gameplay. Anyone who defends this game is in a state of denial. I know because I was, it just took evidence that Activi$ion suckered us into buying a less than half-finished game.

There holloween content seems lacking because they pushed out an incomplete game and are scrambling to finish it in the form of Pay for DLC. Very poor design and it makes the consumers feel like they got the short end of the stick. Wait until february, the actual good games are releasing. Tom Clancys The Divison, Evolve, Bloodborne, Dying Light, Battlefront 3. The list goes on. I for one will wash my hands of destiny. I keep playing and do find i have fun. But its a hollow experience and once games with substance and a caring developer come out this games dead.

I got annoyed for exactly the same reason, the game isn't good enough to have these crappy little extras. When you've made a huge immersive game that involves me in its story and makes me care about events; then give me funny toys to play with in my down time. Until then, start working on making the PvE aspect less sh!t. I'm so bored of this game, which is sad because I really want to love. But it's too lazy.

Lol wow... You'd figure that people would be backing up maintenance on bugs and server issues, but nah, this one's the one that broke the camels back. Forget the fact that the weapons are all over the place, forget the fact that players are getting booted, forget the fact that the VoG is buggy as hell, oh, and forget the fact that the RNG system is broken. Bungie, allocate all of your resources into giving us a South Park Halloween or we will walk and go play CoD which doesn't even have any holiday events :D

They have very few similarities to begin with, so it's not a very valid argument. Finally, don't knock "fanboys" because they enjoy this game. Not everyone has the same lofty standards of videogames as you do. There are people, like myself, who enjoy what this game is and focus on the content that is there instead of what isn't. I can care less if Bungie developed it or not. So if you're really unhappy with this game and what it has to offer, you should just quit playing it and move on to something else instead of continuing to play it. You're only adding more fuel to a fire that you're trying to extinguish.

9 RepliesWoW, Guild Wars 2, and Neverwinter? This isn't an RPG. Try adding in CoD, Team Fortress 2, and Halo. Destiny should be somewhere in the middle of these 6. Are they? Yeah. Do I wish for more stuff? ALWAYS. But have realistic expectations.

4 RepliesI see the examples you listed and I have two counters, one for each. WoW charges 15 bucks a month for its content. I'm sure if destiny was the same you could expect more holiday content. For GW2, that thing is proped by the Cash shop, were outfits pets, etc cost 15 bucks each, again if destiny did the same you could probably expect more content.
