The Multi-Million Dollar Question: PvE vs. PvP
Please just take a minute or less of your time to participate. What is more important to you in destiny? 50/50 there are no wrong answers here!

Personally I am a big fan of PvP, but like many others I bought this game for the 'epic' storytelling and co op PvE it was advertised for. Knowing Bungie I expected a lot more from PvP in this game and currently it's just not a go to for competitive multiplayer, but I hope to see improvement in the future.
I understand that many people on these forums are PvE players but there seems to be overwhelming demand for new PvE content and I hope to see a weekly update detailing the future of PvE sometime soon so we can all grind happily knowing it will pay off.
To those of you who wanted to know where the 'both' option was I intended this to be a black and white question with no neutral answer, that's why the question stated what's [b]most[/b] important. If you didn't vote that's okay 8,000 other people did.
This was my first post on these forums and i am very satisfied with the response, as a community we all need to keep up the constructive feedback on our ends and help the devs create a masterpiece!

PvE raids mainly but I also like PvP 3v3

For sure, pve. Pvp just has to many variables. Mostly filled with people using fusion , or shotguns. I do pretty good at pvp, just doesn't make for fun gameplay, mostly upsetting when u get 1shotted all to often.

PvP is where my hearts at. From playing competitively from Halo 3 to the Call of Duty's. Going against an actual being is entertaining and more challenging than going against a robot.

Most of your gear has a far more easy and natural progression going through pve. It's also where you'll find the "story" to the game as well as leading to the strikes. Vog is pve and the only actual challenge posed globally on the player base at all. So I have to go with pve obviously.

If the PvP was more than just a bunch of nobody siting in the back with snipers then I would like PvP better. But no, I have to constantly be killed by that level thirty with the raid gear and is afraid of dying.

PvP takes more skill, PvE takes more patience. This game appeals more to the latter, which is unfortunate. Frowny face.

Obviously PvE, while in its current state (crap), this is still way better than PvP which will probably die as soon as MCC and CoD release next month.

I find it insulting that some PvE players think every PvP is ruining the game for them since it places me into this category. Sorry to disappoint them since I'm sure many like me are not the cause of their anger.

I only play pvp when I have to, be it for the marks be it to buy the gear I need or if my friends aren't online to run missions

3 RepliesLooks like a clear winner to me. I don't know anyone who said : " Boy, I should get Destiny for PVP!" NO. All of my buddies and myself bought it for the PVE experience, the story, exploration.

I know I'm in the minority.. but I prefer the PvP just for the sheer competition and longevity (which are inherently interconnected). I like the PvE in this game, but I'm not particularly great at it. On the other hand, I'm pretty good at PvP (not great but definitely solid) and I enjoy the competition more than anything. TL;DR To each his [or her] own.

This means nothing. Funny, the bias is strong here... However, when Destiny was getting hit with low reviews on metacritic... Stop assuming... I voted Pve...

this game was based and sold on the idea of it being a MMO style game yet they are updating and patching as if its a FPS game..i got this game for the MMO qualities if i wanted to do FPS id play HALO, TITANFALL, COD, BATTLEFIELD, of some of the multiple other FPS games i have in my collection. I wanted a game where i could have fun in with other PPL lvl up a charc. and do the other stuff thats in MMO style games like geting online with a fireteam or other sick looking guardians and lets smash the fck outa some forgotten , vex and cabal

Now the question is... Do people prefer pvp or just hate pve? something along those lines. I primarily play pve, mainly because pvp is such a laggy mess (wasnt in the beta, not sure what happened) Wouldnt this show that Bungie shouldnt just Focus on PVE, but instead put a lot of Support behind making pvp better.

My problem with the PvP is it feels like it is holding the PvE back because they cannot make super crazy guns for fear they would just outright break the PvP. Look at the mythoclast or the pocket infinity, not even that crazy of a gun but it got nerfed pretty quickly once people started getting them. So we are just going to get more of the same stuff as time goes on because if they deviate from the formula too much then the PvP will break until they nerf said item again in which case it will then be put into the vault and never used again. PvP requires balance, and balance is boring!

Kicking butt in crucible makes you feel like a lord of war; striding across the battlefield with thunder and death in your mailed fists. But running into a low lvl group in a public event and saving their bacon. Or helping a team get thru the vault for the first time. It'll make Ya feel like ninja-batman!
