Ok, for the record, ITS IS NOT MARS/VENUS. IT IS THE FUTURE AND THE PAST OF VENUS. That's why atheon opens a 'timestream' and not a teleporter.

Big Vex places of power. So, why not both? The past *is* Venus and the future *is* Mars? I like to think of it that way. Instead of "wow... they reused textures", it becomes an interesting nod to the story itself. Edit: The Black Heart is something the Vex found, whereas their association with the Vault is still mystery. So logically, the Vault was probably established before they found the Heart.
