"So.... Think you can kill a god?" "I don't think I have a choice.." Most unmanly, lame, forgettable, epic waste of a one liner opportunity ever in the history of gaming. That line is closely followed by "Every end crawls from the same pit... Blah blah blah random shit; random shit; irrelevant dialogue... The Shrine of Oryx must be destroyed!" Like, the last line is almost completely irrelevant to everything else. I understand that the narrative is supposed to convey that the shrine is being used to communicate with a king/God, but it ends up being worded so terribly that it seems disconnected to the actual objective.

So many lines in this game make me roll my eyes. Perhaps it was intentional, but they could have done so much to give your character a bit more agency [i]while[/i] providing exposition. Given all of the time that they spend together doing inane tasks, you'd think your undead guardian might ask a few questions of the ghost. For starters: "How did you bring me back to life?" Or perhaps "Am I alive?" Even if the ghost just brushed off your questions, it would have worked wonders at giving your character a personality, giving the world a sense of atmosphere (even if it is one of confusion and unanswered questions), and giving your character AGENCY. At this point, even if they use DLC to redirect the story, it won't fit because a twist implies a pre-existing expectation about where the story is going. Even a Bioshock-style revelation about your character's lack of agency wouldn't make sense.

All the posts in this topic are good. The writing/ghost voice acting is terrible which is really my only major complaint with the game. Can't we just stay here with the murderous robots?

11 Repliesi dont even have time why i dont have time to explain she says that because thats how it is she is coming (this comes out of the grimoire im not making this up - im serious) from an altarnate timeline where the Vex have implemented themself in reality (Vex are a real world computer virus) and are now about to delete (not kill by shooting actual deleting like the gorgon does in the VoG) all other lifeforms. Thats also why she had to leave so quickly after " they (her Crew other survivors possibly) spotted them (the Vex) The Other one is actually pretty lame he could have told us something that shinny white bastard

Lol almost every line of dialogue in Destiny is contender for worst line ever. My favorite is still I don't even have time to explain why I don't have time to explain. ↑↑↑ FKING ingenious writers, you know for a half billion dollar budget I was expecting a story to rival that of Mass Effect(up until the last 15 minutes of 3 of course) and we get a story I could have written in less than a day. After the cut content this game must have barely a page of dialogue excluding of course all the random 1 lines that have nothing to do with anything like "Guardian go collect some crap for Dead Obit"
