I'm completely baffled as to why they'd spend so much time farming for legendary engrams. I mean, in the 3 hours a person spends with a rubber band on the trigger, they complain about no drops. In that three hours, I've already leveled up my Cryptarch 2 or 3 times, each yielding at least one ascendant material/strange coin/mote of light, as well as faction/vanguard level, and crucible level, while getting massive amounts of weapon parts and sapphire wire, motes of light, glimmer, upgrade materials, and I'm guaranteed at least 1 ascendant shard a day, up to 3, if I do level 28 dailies.
It seems completely inefficient in terms of time spent, effort, and game evolution. Not to mention, with the VoG, you're almost guaranteed great stuff, while boosting your own player skill.
Can someone really justify loot caves, not as a way to play, but as an efficient way to actually get anything?

2 RepliesIt's not efficient, it's just that a lot of the people running the dirty farming tactics don't have the skills necessary to really hang in anything that gives out better chances. I normally check someone's stats before bringing them into anything with me to see how bad off they are, if patrols take up too much of their game kills and their time is not significant enough even in that then I assume their not worth my time. Their strike k/d tends to back that up. I mostly see farmers down in the single digits or early tens.

I've only ever used them for exp or kill bounties/patrol missions
