Just terrible. Clearly you don't know how weapons work in crucible. The only thing I do agree with is the spirit of your post: crucible should be tuned differently for balance.

  • Explain how they work to me exactly. Use psychics and graph charts, ratios and percentages and show your references please.

  • Your response to my first was so pretentious and such a red herring. You don't need graphs and charts and psychics lol to see that this is a bad idea. You're trying to recreate something that doesn't fit at all with Destiny. You get roughly 2-4 supers per match, depending on length, teammate orbs, and your personal score. Destiny is one of the few games where melee isn't instakill (for most classes), no reason to reduce there, just avoid, and grenades are also fairly easy to avoid. Altogether, no imbalance on these, though I will say Hunters got screwed on the grenade end. What you're doing by taking these out is creating another halo or cod-style game, run and gun with limited game changers. The vision of Destiny is game-changers, but that's digressing. You're referring to unbalance, well, the classes themselves are not unbalanced. They all have 1-2 counters that just require the correct loadout that you can't plan for, that's called fog and friction of war, and makes the crucible interesting even though it's as repetitive as anything else. The supers aren't unbalanced. Hunters can break Titan Shield, warlocks can at extended range all but remove the benefits of fists of havoc. It's rock paper scissors, but you are often not going to have the right tool. That's what makes the grenades, melee, weapons necessary. That's why a hunter's blade dance is really vulnerable (pro tip, backpedal with a shotgun when a BD is headed towards you), or why warlocks in the air are vulnerable when casting, and why they don't have a shield when they revive and why titan bubbles can get burst. Supers and grenades and melee even these things out. So back to weapons and armor. This is a bad idea for so many reason and you don't need statistics to show it. Legs and Exos (legendaries and exotics) have their damage and all that, but it's really the impact that matters most, of which most legendaries can easily beat an exo, the real benefit comes from the perks, of which everyone should have a gamechanging perk addition (think adding a variable zoom to a sniper on CoD or a stock to a shotgun to reduce kickback). These will help, but they don't decide it all. Armor goes the same way. You earned and levelled your armor, you should use it for the perks. All these things though are normalized mostly. It's why a level 3 can roll in using the first weapons and armor of the game and wreck shop. It's why Iron Banner was such a laughing stock. Armor doesn't change a thing except maybe at the class level (I might be wrong, but it seems warlock and hunters are more squishy than titans). But lets run with your idea. Lock them all out. So now what are you going to use? They don't even have uncommon level 20 items, rare items would be a waste to level up, and furthermore, everyone would be running around the crucible naked because I don't know about you, but I dismantle every single blue or green item I see, unless I need a certain type of weapon for the element or type for a bounty. So now Bungie came up with your idea and says, let's implement! They quickly realize no one has these items, so maybe you get stocked with all these weapons and armor before you go? Okay, so you start every crucible by reequipping subpar items and armor and get knocked back down to level 20 for no reason and it takes all this time, not to mention reequipping your correct loadout after the match. So that doesn't work, maybe you get auto-fitted with these items? Okay, now the entire look of the game is bland except for Shaders as all classes look the same, and ultimately nothing has changed. This is similar to Halo or CoD, you change the skin but not the meaning. Furthermore, who decides what blue or green item? No one is going to carry around a green or blue item just for crucible. Maybe it's in the vault, but now you have to go to the tower just to go to the crucible. I can't imagine how many DAMMIT moments when people forget to go get their crappy gear after picking up bounties. Now go even farther as to take out the gun looks and feels (a step back from CoD at least). So everyone is running around with no identifying factors at all with subpar equipment. Keep going and now they have maybe 2 supers a game? Why even have a subclass, then? Take out melee cooldown, okay, you lag or miss, now you're just sitting there like a lame duck. Toss a grenade, good job, your entire midrange non-LoS damage is gone, and you can't manipulate enemy movement and you start chasing your enemy around a crate until his buddy comes up (who was camping the whole time) and uses his super and kills you instantly only for you to respawn with everything on cooldown and no advantage whatsoever in the field. I get what you're saying, Crucible is unbalanced, and to some degree that is true, but not the extent everyone claims, it's just that people haven't taken the time realize how it's meant to be played. Advantages are a necessary part of the game. It's why supers are different: so that you use different strategies. The idea is to make crucible an evolutionary process. Keep losing short range against Titans? Switch to midrange or long range. That doesn't work after a while because of locks of hunters? Change it up again. The whole time, you should be changing your subclass as well to give you the best advantages in the field. And to take that even farther, this game is meant to be played and evolved WITH a fireteam. So with your 6ish players, you start working together to develop playstyles and strategies that mix and match. You might be great at short range, but one class kills you all the time. Go with your long-range friend, geared for long-range battles so that you can take out the runners and he can take out the "archers." This goes back to how so much of the feedback on the forum isn't feedback to fix or alter Destiny as it is, it serves to completely change the entire game into something different. I have heard the idea of basically having a loadout without armor or anything, but that's CoD or BF. You really want to affect change, it should be to take the world of Destiny as it is and ask for changes that enhance the game. Removing the loot from a loot-em-up game is like removing jumping from Mario or the blue shell from Mario Kart. It might suck to get killed by these things, but that's the game world. These best ideas for PvP I've heard are: PvP specific items, complete balance across all weapons and armor regardless of level (keeping only subclass and weapon/armor perks), and including a tournament section specifically so that you don't lose the benefits of your items. But to lock out legendaries and exotics is to remove the game at its core.
