I'm getting destroyed on the Daily Heroic Strike! any tips?

So, today's Daily Heroic Strike is Septictank Prime, and I've done it countless times before, but this time, with the Light switch mod, I'm getting absolutely shredded at the warmind mesh. Level 26 Defender Titan build. What should I do differently? I almost had it hanging out at the trains.

  • Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I ended up retrying at lvl 22 and took my time a little better. I got cut down by the surprise ninja Vandals that come out AFTER the last wave of Shanks. Reran it, got rushed by the Vandals again, but was saved by The Devil You Know, back-pedaling and aiming for the horizon. Captains and snipers were delt with either with The Supremacy in Void flavor or my sole Arc delivery machine, Happy Boomer.

  • In the mesh generator room, when you activate it, what I did was run to the left with the tanker and into the big trench. The enemies can't get you from there. Also, when the Hive come, let them duke it out with the Fallen to make it easier and have an AI battle. During the Devil Walker part, just hang back at the entrance and just shoot it until it's dead. Then at the part with the boss, go under the platform and most of the adds shouldn't follow you down but keep an eye on your surroundings because the ones from the dropships have a habit of doing that.

  • I find that an auto rifle with a large mag is really good for the sheer amount if enemies. Team that up with a sniper for the servitors, an arc damage heavy for captains. I'd use the striker subclass and keep moving, you don't want to get pinned down

  • Shoot them in the face when they run at you... Or is that only a hunter thing?

Well, if your a sniper you can stay on the upper ledge behind the mesh generator. However, watch out for grenades throw from dregs, and watch out for stealth vandals that will teleport behind you and beat you shit in. If you can do it that run. I suggest that after you activate the mesh generator, RUN back to the area before that area (the empty room before the mesh room but after the small room with the fallen, a knight, and a few acolytes and thrall). All the enemy spawn doors are on the right hand wall if your facing toward the mesh generator room. You can slowly kill them from there and have plenty of time to slowly pick off the enemies. Watch out as the captains spawn from the door closest to you, also be careful of the enemy captains or vandels that run at you. Best part of option 2, is when you get to wave 3, you can just sit in that room and let the hive and fallen kill each other. Also, when you get to the devil walker, I highly suggest sniping it from as far back as you can, while running back and forth between buildings to divert is attention, bring a few special ammo restores aswell. When you get to sepiks. After the door opens, stay in that little area and slowly pick off both the enemies, and Sepiks health. However pay attention the left hand wall with the stairs that lead down, as a captain aswell as 2 melee vandels will come from there periodically.

When the gate opens run to the back of that area not many thralls will follow you and just take down any that do once your their you'll get 1-2 thralls at a time but you won't get swarmed so from there just snipe all the guards and knights by the entrance and you'll get to the second part that's easy Edit - thought you ment the daily heroic story ....

Go up stairs... Only two shanks go up there and you can hid behind the orange bubble container. Usually Sepiks hits the hand rail or the container when he shoots at you. Did it twice today with both my titans... I was leveling my final raid gear so I did it both times as a 28. Piece-o-cake.

  • I feel your pain, fellow Titan. I made a thread yesterday asking for someone to come join me because I was doing it on level 28 difficulty as a level 25 Titan, solo and I refused to quit. Thankfully, 2 other Titans joined me and we passed it.

  • All I can recommend is arc damage for the captains. Having to do the heroic and nightfall multiple times earlier this week, the captains are the biggest pain in my opinion.

    • If its the devils layer one once you enter the place your getting destroyed (the mesh) go straight to the cave/ditch by the rail road car (far left). Stay there and patiently pick off the enemy for the 3 waves.
