It's so confusing when someone joins a fireteam with a female character and ends up being a dude (*cue Aerosmith*).
Do they all just want the D? But seriously, can any guys who do this shed some light on.. why?
I feel like someone pulled an Oprah, "You get a female warlock, and YOU get a female warlock! Everyone gets female warlocks!"
Edit: Jesus H. Christopher, I'm curious. I've noticed this quite often since I started playing, and I can't answer this question for myself, so I wanted some insight. inb4more "why do you even caaaaare?!!1!?!?"
Edit again: holy -blam!-, I'm a girl. Hence why I don't have insight to why this happens.
Edit, take three: thanks to everyone who gave a legitimate answer! I appreciate the insight :-)

Lot's of reasons really. Some players chose opposite gender for psychological reasons i.e they enjoy being percieved as something they are not. But most just do it to have variety. If you have multiple characters it would get bland to have them all the same gender(this applies more to other games, as generally speaking gear looks different on male/female models). The lesson from this, of course, is to never believe anything internet!
