Why do so many guys play as female characters?
It's so confusing when someone joins a fireteam with a female character and ends up being a dude (*cue Aerosmith*).
Do they all just want the D? But seriously, can any guys who do this shed some light on.. why?
I feel like someone pulled an Oprah, "You get a female warlock, and YOU get a female warlock! Everyone gets female warlocks!"
Edit: Jesus H. Christopher, I'm curious. I've noticed this quite often since I started playing, and I can't answer this question for myself, so I wanted some insight. inb4more "why do you even caaaaare?!!1!?!?"
Edit again: holy -blam!-, I'm a girl. Hence why I don't have insight to why this happens.

I usually play male characters in games however during the destiny beta I noticed something as I was creating my warlock that really bugged me; the male models and cosmetic options looked absolutely retarded. So I just built a cool looking awoken female with a crazy haircut. It wasn't until much later that I realized how friggin badass the exo are (now I got 2 male exos) so I deleted her and now I have my new lock. [spoiler]exo master race[/spoiler]

most guys say "id rather stare at a girls ass all day than a guys" obviously that ones hard to live up to in an FPS. I'm sure its often to do with Anime/Manga female character leads in things like Ghost in the Shell that makes guys wanna play as a badass girl or something

I have always played as a female character ever since games gave me to option to. Not sure how long ago that was... golden axe kinda era.. Personally find the reason to game, especially RPGs is to experience an alternate world/life/etc. So I've always gone all out with the experience and tried to experience the story as the opposite sex. FYI happily married for several years and moved out of mums basement 1st chance I got. So kinda shoots down the pervert man child gamer stereotype people still have, thou I accept there elements of truth to that from some of the games I have met.

I'm male myself but have two females and one male. My reason is that the male characters in Destiny all look so "off". The only male race that didn't look completely stupid as a male were the exo (hence my one male char).

Honestly it's one of those "masculine pig" habits I'm not that proud of that started with games like morrowind or fallout: if I'm going to be staring at someone's ass all day, it might as well be a finely carved woman's ass.

1 ReplyTitan and lock are both male (titan is the awoken me lol) and my Hunter is a lovely awoken female. She is also the one which gives me good loot compared to my 2 male characters plus a female Hunter looks pretty damn good :)

Many male gamers are isolated from society and live in mommy's basement with no chance of real female interaction so they use the lame excuse "I'd rather stare at a females ass while I play" because they know they're pathetic in real life. Creating a female character is the closest they will get to the opposite sex. Either that or they envision themselves as females and creating a female character will help them achieve their desire to be a chick. I play as males for the simple fact I'm a guy and I imagine myself playing through these amazing worlds and triumphing over the obstacles it provides. But then again I have a wife and am not pathetic enough to masturbate to a made up female game character......unless it's Lara Croft everybody has to get off to Lara. Lmfaaooo Edit: on a serious note, 90% have this mentality the other 10% have legit reasons to run a female character. Examples would be they have a gf, wife who also plays so they have her character on their profile, or they run a female character to see if a female character reacts differently in the story mode. Most people can't take truth that's why they prefer people who are politically correct. I'm sure I'll get hate mail for this but I really don't give two f***s. I've met countless perverts and losers in the gaming world who run chick characters for reasons mentioned above. Guys if u don't like my answer too bad....put the lotion away and go meet real chicks.
