It's so confusing when someone joins a fireteam with a female character and ends up being a dude (*cue Aerosmith*).
Do they all just want the D? But seriously, can any guys who do this shed some light on.. why?
I feel like someone pulled an Oprah, "You get a female warlock, and YOU get a female warlock! Everyone gets female warlocks!"
Edit: Jesus H. Christopher, I'm curious. I've noticed this quite often since I started playing, and I can't answer this question for myself, so I wanted some insight. inb4more "why do you even caaaaare?!!1!?!?"
Edit again: holy -blam!-, I'm a girl. Hence why I don't have insight to why this happens.
Edit, take three: thanks to everyone who gave a legitimate answer! I appreciate the insight :-)

some speculate that certain female classes have smaller hitbox
-
It's a role play, duder. Think Aliens, or Terminator 2. Strong female leads appeal to some.
-
Because I don't get to play as a female character that often so when I get the choice I usually chose the female. I personally don't identify with a character in a game and don't feel they represent me IRL so I can't speak from that side of it. Got 2 girl and 1 guy characters, I often get asked if its because I want to be a woman, i find that a bit strange because I don't really want to be a computer game character at all.

The male classes look way too bulky, it's way my titan and warlock are both female. If I could, I would change my hunters gender to female. But, alas, Bungie won't allow it. As others have said, the customisation options are very limited.
-
1 ReplyBecause I'd rather look at a tight rear from from my Hunter and Warlock than my Titan's fat butt when I'm in the Tower.
-
I honestly just dislike the customization options for the Male Awoken and Human.
-
They're not as fat honestly and a lot of armor looks cooler lol
-
Easy. If you are gonna stare at a body for many hours would you rather stare at the same sex or the opposite?
-
*sentiment* me and my sister made a character together a while ago called pancake was a girl, am gonna base every character after her from now on so like yea
-
No Real reason, wanted one of each class and randomly picked sex. No real thought went into it.
-
Edit 2 is makin my throat dry up a bit. Anyone have some water?
-
My warlock's a female simply because the female warlock model looks better. Hunters don't look bad either, but my Hunter and Titan are male.

Got to say I'm confused when an exo joins but turns out to be a human. I mean come on they give you the choice of human for a reason.
-
As a guy, why would I want to look at a dude all day?
-
1 ReplyBecause the male versions of every class look weird. Titans look like Arnold Schwarzenegger on steroids, warlocks look fat in those robes and male hunters have a weird stance buffed up torso and skinny legs. At least that's my opinion, I have two male characters and I regret not picking them females lol
-
I made a female titan but I wish I didn't. They look weird, but I have gear and time in her so I kept her. I let my girlfriend make my female hunter to play but I just took it over lol. The girl hunters look pretty sweet though
-
I have a male hunter and warlock but my titan is female because it was my wife's character, before she got bored with the game.
-
Maybe because it's a video game and they can be whoever they want? Maybe you shouldn't worry about what they are. Were you creeping, hoping to find a girl and a guy with a female guardian tricked you?
-
1 ReplyMale Hunters look awkward.
-
Because I see too many male Titans, and feel as though a hot Exo should be able to kick ass too.
-
Well personally I do it for character diversity. Kinda the same reason someone does the different races. Because the doesn't impact game play at all, besides the grunting sounds made by injured Guardians, it's really just to keep from looking at the same kinda thing every time you're in the tower. Other people might do it for character purposes and actually develop their characters in writing outside the game and don't want a sausage fest of characters Then there are the people who have the "I'd rather look at a lady butt then a guy butt when running around the tower" mentality going on (these are the same males who played female characters in Skyrim n such for those same reasons. And last but not least there are the Jack Patillos of the world. Nuf said

Variety, and there is just so many guy main characters in video games it's sometimes nice to play a strong female character.

Edited by Psyko_Dad: 11/3/2015 4:07:09 PMIt's because my ex-gf is bi-sexual. She liked looking at female booty and so did I. Guess I'm just used to it now.

Idk I have a female titan. Guess I just wanted some variety.
