It's so confusing when someone joins a fireteam with a female character and ends up being a dude (*cue Aerosmith*).
Do they all just want the D? But seriously, can any guys who do this shed some light on.. why?
I feel like someone pulled an Oprah, "You get a female warlock, and YOU get a female warlock! Everyone gets female warlocks!"
Edit: Jesus H. Christopher, I'm curious. I've noticed this quite often since I started playing, and I can't answer this question for myself, so I wanted some insight. inb4more "why do you even caaaaare?!!1!?!?"
Edit again: holy -blam!-, I'm a girl. Hence why I don't have insight to why this happens.
Edit, take three: thanks to everyone who gave a legitimate answer! I appreciate the insight :-)

I have a female Warlock, it feels like female are most suited for Warlocks so. My Titan and Hunter are males though.

10 RepliesEdited by JustOnePepsi: 10/8/2015 12:37:39 PMThe concept of in-game characters being representative of the gender, orientation, race, or even species of the player is an old one. When I play Skyrim, my character might be a klepto lesbian cat-person. I am none of those things in reality, which is fine, because games are not reality. That character does not represent me any more than my female Human Hunter in Destiny... nor my male Exo Titan. This mentality of caring what other people play as online is archaic. Should have died out years ago. Honestly, the only people I see who seem to care about such things anymore tend to be young, immature, and insecure with their own sexuality.

Edited by Frenchification: 10/8/2015 3:24:06 PMMy sister wanted to play too so I let her create two of my characters hence I have one male she plays on my profile sometimes and it is a lot of fun watching her play since she can't for some reason use more than two fingers on the controller at one time Not to say that girls can't play game but I know my sister just can't Btw what consoles out on? I haven't seen many woman characters on mine so I don't really know why there are many woman characters on your console.

i just dont like how most male characters end up being body builders that are pumped up on steroids and such. also some of the stuff on male characters just look weird to me, male warlocks are guys in dresses, male titans look like walking cubes, male hunters seem to be the only decent male options imo for destiny. but also most characters i make end up being female because i like the more agile look over a muscles for brains any day. if more games had a more agile looking male protagonist i would probably play as them more often(take warcraft for example, unless your a forsaken or gnome, a male character looks like he could rival Hercules in an arm wrestling competition)

4 RepliesHonestly I play a female character because male protagonists are sometimes overly abundant. It's just a nice change of pace. Plus female characters have a smaller hitbox
-
1 ReplyMy warlock is a female character and I made her that way because they all have to wear a dress anyway and it seemed appropriate.
-
1 ReplyI chose a female for my warlock just because the gear looks better on the female. But I chose male for my other 2 classes.

I'm in love with my awoken female.

1 ReplyWhy do so many humans play as Exo and awoken? Doesn't make sense, you are human, play as a human!
-
I have two male characters. Variety is the spice of life, so I made my Hunter a female.
-
My first character was an exo male, my second was an awoken male. I went human female with the 3rd for variety. I have heard that female characters have smaller hit boxes, so it may be a tactical choice for some

Secret gay gay. That's why, trans-jenners.

Because i like seeing a strong woman in my life
-
I just like the diversity. Warlock Human Male Woman Awoken Titan Male Exo Hunter I wasn't worried about someone wondering if I was a guy or girl as my "Real life" picture of me is on my PS profile.
-
Cause I want to play a strong woman in game because I do not have enough of those in real life? Because I want to see what a big football player like woman would look like since we do not have many representations of such things in real life? Because the ladies have better hair options? I do not have a specific reason, I just felt like it when I was making my characters at the time.

1 ReplyBecause I like boobs and ass
-
I'd rather stare at a hot piece of ass all day than the latter.
-
Make titan is too bulky. Liked the look of the female titan character better.
-
Was not impressed with the male characters I.e. hairstyle and other customizations.

My titan and my warlock are dudes. Because. Well the armor for them looks weird on the female models. my hunter is a female because the hunter armor looks better on females. and I mean, Why do so many humans play as exos?
