It's so confusing when someone joins a fireteam with a female character and ends up being a dude (*cue Aerosmith*).
Do they all just want the D? But seriously, can any guys who do this shed some light on.. why?
I feel like someone pulled an Oprah, "You get a female warlock, and YOU get a female warlock! Everyone gets female warlocks!"
Edit: Jesus H. Christopher, I'm curious. I've noticed this quite often since I started playing, and I can't answer this question for myself, so I wanted some insight. inb4more "why do you even caaaaare?!!1!?!?"
Edit again: holy -blam!-, I'm a girl. Hence why I don't have insight to why this happens.
Edit, take three: thanks to everyone who gave a legitimate answer! I appreciate the insight :-)

Because people in patrol are genuinely nicer to you.
-
My main is a male, but I also enjoy strong female leads.
-
3 RepliesMine was a total accident as I didn't notice that I had "female" selected during character creation then finished a few of the missions early before noticing and didn't want to redo them...
-
3 RepliesGender? Pfft not a big deal. Now what's a big deal is there are almost no black guardians. ^_^
-
.......why do you care?
-
I made my main a male exo then hunter and warlock females cause I was bored and never had a female character in any other game
-
My main and second characters are male. My titan is female because I didn't make a female character yet, and the male titan looks a bit bulky.
-
Edited by Dredgen Mictlan: 10/8/2015 4:02:00 PMI made a female titan in vanilla destiny and my 3 year old kid made fun of me. So i deleted it made a male titan. Thats all im saying
-
It's a subconscious desire to be female in real life, or its possibly just to troll sex-craving teens.
-
From reading all the posts below it either has to deal with: A: dat ass or B: wierd sexual ambiguity and general creepiness.
-
Yawn get over it...
-
Edited by Peppppyyy: 10/8/2015 3:58:13 PMDidn't like how the male hunters looked for some reason. So I made a female one. Do you think it's weird if female gamers play as male characters?
-
Edited by NYDIBS: 10/8/2015 3:53:52 PMso they have something to jack off to
-
I have all guys
-
Started a female Awoken Hunter in vanilla Destiny. Waited patiently. Nightstalker subclass released. Now have a Night Elf. Success.
-
4 RepliesI look at it like this. If I have to stare at the back side of my character, I might as well enjoy the view.
-
Because they want to? How is this even confusing?
-
I like the look of my female Titan , male looks too bulky ... That's the opposite for my hunter: my hunter is a male cause the female looks terribly skinny...
-
Because datass
-
They like to play dress up
-
For me ever since the mass effect games, I always make one character of each gender but then I noticed I personally think the armor looks better on a female avatar for warlocks but that's just me
-
1 ReplyWarlock female Exo dance. That's it. Oh and warlock gear looks like it was designed for female characters.
-
1 ReplyI have been gaming for 20+ years and have alwats played female characters where there is an option to do so (I am male). Originally, it was to wind up all the little boys that used to come up to me and say inappropriate things because my character was female. Llistening and watching them freak out when they found out I was male was very entertaining. Now, I have them out of habit. There should be no gender bias in gaming. Unfortunately, there still is. From both sides. I have been in forums where female gamers rage against the injustice of males playing females. Even the MMORPG acronym has an new meaning now: Mainly Males Online Role Playing Girls.
-
Because i hate all of the faces for male characters
-
I have a female Warlock, it feels like female are most suited for Warlocks so. My Titan and Hunter are males though.
