It's so confusing when someone joins a fireteam with a female character and ends up being a dude (*cue Aerosmith*).
Do they all just want the D? But seriously, can any guys who do this shed some light on.. why?
I feel like someone pulled an Oprah, "You get a female warlock, and YOU get a female warlock! Everyone gets female warlocks!"
Edit: Jesus H. Christopher, I'm curious. I've noticed this quite often since I started playing, and I can't answer this question for myself, so I wanted some insight. inb4more "why do you even caaaaare?!!1!?!?"
Edit again: holy -blam!-, I'm a girl. Hence why I don't have insight to why this happens.
Edit, take three: thanks to everyone who gave a legitimate answer! I appreciate the insight :-)

The only male character I have is my titan, I just don't like the way male characters look, But for real.
Dat booty.
-
I thought of the suffragettes when making my character... They didn't go through all that for nothing :P
-
Just to be different sometimes. Some people create stories in their heads about their characters. You'll see the gender bender more on people's subs rather than their mains.
-
The females Hunter gear is so much better looking than the males Hunter gear. But, my Titan and Warlock are both males.
-
My hunter was female because male hunters look like shit. My warlocks male because female warlocks look like shit. Titan genders look the same.
-
I like being attracted to my character. Not in a pervy way, just like, "hey she's pretty."
-
1. Boobs 2. Aesthetics 3. Lack of options for customization on the male characters
-
Asthetics. I prefer to hear and see what I find asthetically pleasing. In this case, it is the female form. If I have a choice, this is what I do.
-
Theres always 2 options you have when you play an rpg: Make the character who you wish to be. -or- Make the character something nice to look at. For me i main a male warlock, red hair like me, hairstyle that i find pretty cool, etc. Its ME, in the game. For the other two i chose female characters. Not because i wanna prance around as a girl (or even use the cliche line 'id rather stare at a chicks ass than a guys') Female hunter is what a hunter should look like. Male hunters have rlly wide bodies to me. When i thjnk of a lone wolf hunter out in the wild i dont picture a guy wearing the equivalent of a barrel drum trying to crouch and snipe. Shes small, not bulky, assassin style. Titans are almost the same, they remind me of male norn from guild wars. Those beasts get like 6ft wide with the ugliest, bulkiest shit looking armor. I hate it. The female titan has contours and smaller armor. Thats why i have 1 guy and 2 chicks.
-
Cause I don't view the avatar as being me... And if I gotta look at something i'd rather look at a women than a dude... Anyways makes for change up for playing as the gruff skinhead dude from countless games😀

My girlfriend wanted to build a character
-
I absolutely agree. It's -blam!-ing weird tbh
-
In all honesty. I did it thinking there would be a grimoire card. So I made sure to use every race. Every class and both genders when I made my 3 characters last year.

2 RepliesCause I rather look at chicks then some dudes
-
Lol I dont believe anyone that plays female character is a female unless I hear them on speaker. But hey even I have 1 female character out my 3 :p wanted to mix it up lol

Honestly, I chose females for my three guardians because I liked the dances better then the male ones. And the voice for the guardian (what few lines they have) sound better with the female voice.
-
1 ReplyWow this is old. My first comment is probably down there somewhere lol

Some people just want to have booty swaying whenever they play. Other people just wants to have a girl in the mix up of there 3 characters because well.. why not! The only others games I've played as a female lead is Tomb Raider, Skyrim, and Mass Effect. But personally I have one female character which is my Warlock because honestly the male Warlock looks to god damn fat. Titan I can make and exception for because they are suppose to be bulky cuz they're tanks. But there is really no other excuse to make female hunters if you're a guy. Half of the cloaks and armors glitch on them and the helmets and even there faces in general look like pinheads compared to the rest of their body. Plus da booty ain't even good. Those people are just desperate. Hope that answered your question.

Why do so many humans play as exos or awoken?
-
I use female "avatars" because I enjoy the female form. I say that not in a perverted way, I just enjoy the way armor, etc. Sits on the female form. I don't use avatars as an extension of myself like some people do. I play games to play them and not put myself in the characters spot to experience things as if I were THERE.
-
I play all females because I like something nice to look at while I play (when I see my character). I get along better with women than men in real life and that reflects in most everything that I do. I just don't like male characters when there's a choice.
-
1 ReplyWhy does everyone care so much? It literally changes nothing.
-
2 RepliesBecause of previous games I always choose the female form. People swear the hit box is smaller. When I did the exotic sword quest the 3 of us (all guys) played as 2 male characters and 1 female (myself). We accidentally killed the warden too fast and had to wipe once. The guy with the titan stood in front of al acuul and was promptly 1 hit. I did the same and it took him 2-3 hits. We were all very close on light lvl with no modifiers. So I believe it a little bit.
