It's so confusing when someone joins a fireteam with a female character and ends up being a dude (*cue Aerosmith*).
Do they all just want the D? But seriously, can any guys who do this shed some light on.. why?
I feel like someone pulled an Oprah, "You get a female warlock, and YOU get a female warlock! Everyone gets female warlocks!"
Edit: Jesus H. Christopher, I'm curious. I've noticed this quite often since I started playing, and I can't answer this question for myself, so I wanted some insight. inb4more "why do you even caaaaare?!!1!?!?"
Edit again: holy -blam!-, I'm a girl. Hence why I don't have insight to why this happens.
Edit, take three: thanks to everyone who gave a legitimate answer! I appreciate the insight :-)

Well I can say that I play a female because I hardly ever like the way male characters look. There over muscular or there chest seems swollen in most games. I like finesse in a character. The Hunter male looks pretty cool but I made a female in the end. Thought about leveling a male and transferring gear if I like it better. Then I realized I would lose all my rep and everything so I'm committed to my female now.

Im a guy. My main is a male titan, but I also have a female warlock. I chose female because the character model looks better with the gear imo. It has nothing to do with sexuallity or pervertedness. I simply like how it looks better.
-
Because -blam!- gender stereotypes that's why #FemlockMasterRace
-
2 RepliesI would rather stare at a girl for hours on end then stare at a guy case closed

Cause female characters have a smaller silhouette for PVP. Nearly everyone in Gears multiplayer was the female character.
-
Cause they like dick. Obvs
-
7 RepliesI don't understand why it matters what gender people play in the first place. It doesn't change anything nor does it mean anything. Does it bother you? You can't sleep at night?
-
Why the hell not? It makes zero difference to the game. All it is is a role playing choice. Sometimes I play a dude sometimes a dudette.

I have a female Warlock. My Hunter and Titan are males. ONLY reason my Warlock is female is cause my girlfriend wanted to try Destiny and made her. She somehow magically got her to level 13. I didn't want to reset and go aaaall the way back to 13 then to 20, so i just kept it. Plus she likes to play it every once in a while.
-
I have three characters, and between the three, I have all three races, classes, and both genders represented. That, I did on purpose.
-
2 RepliesMaybe because they don't want to look at a guys ass while playing?
-
Like many have said, it's all about how they look. I liked the male warlock. Titan male was okay, buy actually like how the female looks. Hunter female looks loads better than male. I will more than likely make my hunter a female when I get around to making one.
-
I didn't like the way the guys looked, girls look cooler in this game. Plus, playing an agile hunter looks strange with how... Built the guys are.
-
I just go by what looks the best. The Hunters look good as females. The Titans armour looks awful as a female character. Too clunky for a slender body. The Warlocks are whatever. Female or not their armour still looks pretty meh.
-
So there is the consensus answer" I don't see real girls, so I look at a fake one all day"
-
I have a female hunter, I'm a guy in real life! It's a game, who cares? I liked the way my awoken hunter danced for me, so I chose her. Besides, my main character is a male exo. I wanted to play both genders, because it's a video game, and gender doesn't matter. I can't express this enough
-
12 RepliesUsually guys that use girls as characters are lame nerds that cant get a female in real life! FACT!
-
The most common thing I hear is its a smaller target.
-
9 RepliesYou're one to talk with that profile picture. By the way, I have yet to run into an actual female in Destiny, so just assume everybody is a guy.
-
1 ReplyBecause i don't see enough fem protagonists in games. Granted, i didn't make my main female, but i did make my 2nd character and my next character will be fem as well. Also, because i like the slight design deviations that females have.

Edited by Lowk721: 10/13/2014 7:12:56 PMApparently there are a lot a people who can't help staring at the ass of their character. Which is sort of suprising since you spend a majority of the game in first person and the fact that either armor or class items end up covering said ass.

1 ReplyI like the way the females sound when they take damage....

Simple answer l: fap fap fap fap fap

No beards.. and I prefer the female asthetics and armor skins more.
