It's so confusing when someone joins a fireteam with a female character and ends up being a dude (*cue Aerosmith*).
Do they all just want the D? But seriously, can any guys who do this shed some light on.. why?
I feel like someone pulled an Oprah, "You get a female warlock, and YOU get a female warlock! Everyone gets female warlocks!"
Edit: Jesus H. Christopher, I'm curious. I've noticed this quite often since I started playing, and I can't answer this question for myself, so I wanted some insight. inb4more "why do you even caaaaare?!!1!?!?"
Edit again: holy -blam!-, I'm a girl. Hence why I don't have insight to why this happens.
Edit, take three: thanks to everyone who gave a legitimate answer! I appreciate the insight :-)

Because I'd rather play a girl than a guy as in most games you're always a guy.. Plus I let my gf pick my characters looks and sex as at the end of the day it's only a character in a game.. Who cares what sex they are?
-
Just like playing a strong female lead. There's been many male leads, like to switch it up or else it gets old. I like the way females look anyways.
-
For me personally, my titan happened because after my hunter came out looking like Spock I was experimenting with female options, something hit me on the shoulder and I freaked the -blam!- out, accidentally confirming when I was trying to see the options for a Male awoken. I have done it before in other games though, and I think it just comes down to making the character what you want. That's actually one of the few common double standards against men in the gaming community if you ask me; I've never seen an instance of a female being asked their reasoning or being judged for creating or playing a male character, though I'm sure it's happened. Meanwhile all the stuff you see relating to the other way around. Some people will do it for perverse reasons but some just don't care too much because it's a game and some other people may just want to RP, and all of that goes both ways. So I'd say that for a lot of male players, you can answer that question with "pretty much the same reasons you might play a male character."

I have male Titan, male Warlock and female hunter. Why? Because that is just how I see them. Hunter needed to be female. No other reason. Also, who cares if you play male or female.
-
Because I want to have sex with my hunter but I cant
-
I wanted to have at least one girl in my group. The Warlock and Titan as guys, and the hunter as a girl.
-
Because on PS4 there is too many brown guys. Not White hot females.
-
Because the stripper dancing is hilarious
-
I find female characters more interesting to play as.
-
I only have one female character, and it's because with only 3 characters per player, and 18 different combos of class, race, and gender, I try to mix it up as much as possible. My main character is a guy though.
-
8 Repliessorry you like lookin at the back of a male for hours a day
-
Because they wish they were females in real life. Why do you think they say they have SWAG (secretly we are gay) bruh.
-
Why is this still a topic... Simple answers to a simple question.

1 ReplyEdited by JadedReviver: 10/12/2014 9:59:07 PMProbably b/c you aren't normally able to. It gives the people a chance to play as something you usually arnt able to. So let them. Don't questions. What does it matter to you? Huh?! What what. In the butt. Ya. Edit. I think the last game that gave me a chance was mass effect 3 yet I still didn't take it.

I made both a male and female warlock to differenciate when im switching back an forth
-
Because in the tower, it is the only ass they will ever stare at.
-
I would rather hear a girl moan, than a guy. So I pick a female character.
-
8 RepliesMy does my warlock look like a ginger lord farquad? Cuz I -blam!-ing can. Why is my hunter some badass hunter? CUZ I -blam!-ING CAN PUSSYBOI
-
Why do you care so much should be the only question answered here. Nuff said...
-
Because I can lol. No but seriously it's because in most RPGs or other games that let you create a character the males are all buff and huge. There not realistic or average. Females are at least somewhat realistic. Hope this makes sense.

Edited by Zeus: 10/12/2014 10:09:37 PMI personally don't play a female character, but I can see multiple reasons. Vanity: "I wanna stare at a girl character, not a gross dude!" Roleplay: "My Hunter is a beautiful killing machine with +1 Charisma" Equality: "Having a strong female character is so rare, I want to change this!" The Barbie/Ken:."You HAVE to have both!" The Competitor: "Smaller frame, smaller hitbox, right? Right? #Getwrekt #Yoloswag" Not necessarily true. There are also the deeper issues of gender identity, but I doubt that would make a big percent. These are just some examples of course, but as long as I have a full fireteam the genitals and or voice of the participants just don't matter.

I make one of each at least
-
Edited by Tut813275: 10/12/2014 10:07:00 PMMy main is a guy but if I ever make a second it will be a girl, because the females look dope in all gear.
-
Hmm.. lets see.. Mystic arts. always viewed that as a female aspect. agile and swift. woman. Beefy and tanky. male.
-
Different voice actor too And in mass effect you get different dialogue , but that was too much for bungie apparently.
