It's so confusing when someone joins a fireteam with a female character and ends up being a dude (*cue Aerosmith*).
Do they all just want the D? But seriously, can any guys who do this shed some light on.. why?
I feel like someone pulled an Oprah, "You get a female warlock, and YOU get a female warlock! Everyone gets female warlocks!"
Edit: Jesus H. Christopher, I'm curious. I've noticed this quite often since I started playing, and I can't answer this question for myself, so I wanted some insight. inb4more "why do you even caaaaare?!!1!?!?"
Edit again: holy -blam!-, I'm a girl. Hence why I don't have insight to why this happens.
Edit, take three: thanks to everyone who gave a legitimate answer! I appreciate the insight :-)

Legit weirdos

I first started playing girls because my daughters like making my characters and they make girls but know I do it because they just tend to look better.

You've probably got all the answers you wanted by now, but anyway I have a different character for all species (Exo, Awoken, & Human), for each class (Titan,Hunter, & Warlock) respectively. And personally by the time I got to my warlock I thought it was time to change it up, since my previous characters were male.
-
I haven't created my other characters on Destiny yet, but when I do create girl characters in games it's because I like to create stories when I can create a character, and sometimes I have a story about a girl in my head. My Warlock is a male Awoken, but I plan for my Hunter to be a human female and my Titan to be an Exo male. Those just make the most sense to me. When I think of the Hunter class, I always picture a feminine figure. I play my characters mostly as their characters, it's just fun to do. I've already got a backstory for my Hunter when I create her eventually.

1 ReplyBLUF - Blame vanity. The male characters (except Exos, they're all cool looking) are sooo ugly. The females are actually really pretty. So, as a Warlock I wanted to be an Awoken and I made the mistake in the Beta of picking a male. My lady Awoken Warlock now is awesome. Love her. Just made a Male Exo Titan and he is also awesome. Still undecided what my inevitable Hunter race/gender will be.

I personally play as a female character because I like stories where the strong lead character is female wich is something you sadly don't see often enough, so when the option exsists to make such a character, I take it :)
-
Because its like build a female workshop guy
-
1 Replyreason people play as a female character, because they can.
-
All these guys with women charators get invited to the raid and never are seen again
-
Just for variety. I've played many games where the main protagonist is female so it wasn't a big deal to me.
-
i have 3 character and one is a female because i liked the idea of a female hunter
-
Really people like to see the different gear woman get
-
I chose a girl A- I'm ganna have both genders B-they look better (not pervitedly, but the aesthetics look better)
-
Cause I've played games most of my life and I've always been a guy and tell the truth I'm sick of looking at a guy ass all the time.
-
If I have to stare at an ass while I'm running around the tower, do I want to stare at a dude ass or a chick ass? Seems like an obvious choice.
-
1 ReplySlimmer figure = smaller target = survivability
-
I chose my characters based on the best dance moves so: male exo>female exo (female one isn't bad, I just like the male one better) female awoken>male awoken (everytime I see someone do this "Dance" I just want to yell STAHP!!) female human>male human (not as bad as the male awoken but still uninspired)
-
It's funnier when tbagging and dancing on defeated tryhards.
-
It's tactical. Smaller, slimmer avatar. Smaller target, harder to hit, therefore advantage.
-
Whenever possible I choose a female character to balance out all those games that have a fixed male player-character.
-
I feel it's just a matter of choice, it's your character. Be whatever gender you want to see.
-
I visioned a hunter to be an ass tearing female so I went for it. Plus I like the class in pvp so makes her a bitch to hit
-
I'm not male, but quite honestly the male characteristics are ugly. I intended on making a male character for my Warlock, but dang no choice was a good one for any race Awoken or Human. Saving Exo for Titan.. But the male form is quite ugly to look at honestly. I understand them wanting something pretty to look at!

I do it to fool people. There may be that ever so slight hesitation to shoot a girl. Every little bit helps in multiplayer.
