Why do so many guys play as female characters?
It's so confusing when someone joins a fireteam with a female character and ends up being a dude (*cue Aerosmith*).
Do they all just want the D? But seriously, can any guys who do this shed some light on.. why?
I feel like someone pulled an Oprah, "You get a female warlock, and YOU get a female warlock! Everyone gets female warlocks!"
Edit: Jesus H. Christopher, I'm curious. I've noticed this quite often since I started playing, and I can't answer this question for myself, so I wanted some insight. inb4more "why do you even caaaaare?!!1!?!?"
Edit again: holy -blam!-, I'm a girl. Hence why I don't have insight to why this happens.

I wanted an awoken warlock but didn't like the way male warlock looks, for that kind of color they are, I think looks better as female.

Unless you live in the tower or spend a long time on your equipment scream.I think anyone who wants to rep themselves as the opposite gender in an mmo is just trying to live vicariously through a game. Just a thought.

Why not? It's not sexual or anything, but I'd rather not look at the same character all the time, especially in a game like destiny where all my characters are robots with no real discernible differences.

I'm a guy, and the only time I play a female, when it's mine choice, is like I'm Dragon Age where there is actual different actions and reactions to your character if they are male or female.

I also often wondered this too. I make all my characters male as I'm a dude, but always found it interesting that some guys preferred a female character. Doesn't bother me either way, but interesting for sure.

I don't. I just had an open spot for a character and gave it to my sister cause I'm good with hunter and warlock totan is not my thing. She's great eith titan

I'll be brutally honest...I personally like the way the female characters in destiny look compared to the male characters. My female awoken warlock with million million shader? Dang. I mean just...wow. I look damn blamity sexy! So yeah...that's why I chose a female character. Though I did choose a male hunter.

Yeah.. Actually it's about the look, hunters look better as females for me and warlocks and titans as both... Normally a don't like the strong body type so usually I make female chars and is much more comfortable to look (at third person games) at a.woman... But in paper roleplaying games I always make males...

I play for a tactial advantage same on cod ghosts. males = bigger body easy targeting.. Females = smaller body, harder targeting .. But my main is a male warlock.

Because in the majority of games I play you are a male character. Also, most armour on titans and hunters makes them look like a rectangle.

Which one must admit is fair reasoning. However, my reason is: I'm a male human. I am one of these all day every day for the entirety of my days. If I'm going to play a game that lets be be one of a multitude of things, why the hell would I go off and play as something I already am? Therefore, I am a robot wizard lady and I am frabjous as hell.
