The objective is to control the zones. Stop running right past a zone that needs to be captured or a teammate that is capturing. It's called teamwork, you're spree and k/d mean nothing here. Hence you not being able to view your deaths. Play right or don't play @ all. Some of us actually want to win.
Endrant.
Update: Proof controlling zones > kills
Me and another player both stayed on A the entire match. The most popular Zone on the map I might add. K/D: 2.6 Score: 3360

Listen I know everyone wants to wag there e-peen and seem like they are God, stop. Common sense tells you, if having zones adds a bonus to your score, why would you not defend said zones to achieve victory more quickly? Why would I capture a zone, move on to the next one with a possiblity of getting killed. When I could capture and lure the enemy to the zone and kill them. Both defending and gaining points for my team, like I did in the update of the OP. I'm not here to be an asshole, it won't be the end of the world to lend a hand to your teammate for 5 secs that it will take to capture.

2 RepliesThere's plenty of reasons to skip past a zone. 1. Your teamates should get it. 2. You're in between them and the enemy players. 3. You can go grab a different zone to help the team even more! 4. Maybe you actually are on a good streak and don't want to die yet. 5. Maybe you're a slayer, great at getting kills, so why should you sit in one spot to do the opposite of what you're good at? In other words, owning them, leads to the opposing team quitting, which gives your team the win.
Plus, you actually can see your deaths. In the after-match stats, just click LB or L2 to change the stats you're looking at.
-
your the guy that takes C on Bastion and the other useless objectives that get your team trapped.
-
best strategy with a team of 6 is to split into 3 two's, one pair for each location, or split into 2 threes and defend A and B or whatever,
-
If you can win a match without capturing a single base then Control is NOT an objective game. Control is a tdm game type (so... yeah kdr matters) with bases that amplifies the amount of points per kill you get.
-
I care about K/D and winning. If you want kills, then just stand in a zone. Enemies are bound to come your way.
-
1 ReplyYour k/d ratio sucks. Therefore, no one should do what you do in pvp; because it's obviously wrong.
-
um im a big iron banner fan and control and i have never camped a flag and my best score was 41 kills and 8465 score so umm your method sucks
-
It's no fun camping in one spot

20 RepliesYou do know certain objective points lose you favourable spawn control on each map, right? If everyone else is running straight past an objective, and you're the only person trying to cap it, you're probably going to lose your team the match. Map control is everything in that gametype. That doesn't involve getting all three zones. 2 > 3.
-
I love capping more than killing in this game
-
Or you can just own them at their spawn and then win by 10k every time.
-
4 RepliesUh.. dude 3000 isn't really something to brag about.. Also you could get away with holding even 1 objective if you get enough kills.
-
Both are imperative to obtain victory.

5 RepliesEdited by Fawkzi: 10/11/2014 10:35:33 AMYour K/D actually does mean something, do you not know how control works? You do not get points by simply controling zones, you you can hold all three zones but if you don't get a single kill, your score will not raise, this isn't like Domination where you hold a zone and watch your score rise, it's kills that up your score, control zones act as score multipliers, the more zones you control when you get a kill the more points go toward your teams score. Don't hate on the slayers man, we capture the zones but they slay and up the score.
-
6 RepliesHow about fuk off and I'll play the game how I like?
-
All the zone do are increase the amount of points per kill. Yes, they're important, but if you have a team constantly dying trying to take said point, then the benefits don't always pan through. In fact, one game I had, a single team secured one zone and held it down. They didn't even try to take the other two, and they won by miles. They were using Titan shields a fair bit and had the two ways into the area well locked down.
-
3 RepliesI´m playing that PvP shit just for my exotic bounty. So stop complaining about the players and adress the idiots forcing us into PvP (who actually don´t want to play it).
-
2 Replies"The objective is to control the zones." Nope.
-
Yes and no. The primary objective is to win. Winning doesn't actually require you to hold points. Which of course is dumb every other game type like this grants points per second per zone. Destiny only grants per kill x zone multiplier.
-
Need to find yourself a group, man. Completely different experience on a 6 man team than it is when running with randies.
-
Well said.
-
4 RepliesI hate playing control with people simply because everyone and I mean everyone captures and runs to the next one without leaving a single person to defend what you just captured. It is like cap one then go cap another but lose the first one two seconds after you get to the second. Like has no one ever played control modes in other games? You only need two of three majority of the game to win but instead of keepin two tey abandon both to try and get a third and lose both the first two

you're spree and k/d mean nothing here
..except they do. They mean a whole lot, actually. Believe it or not, controlling the zones doesn't give you points. You get points for killing. The zones simply boost the amount of points you earn per kill. So yeah, I'll continue running by zones and getting 5 kills on the enemy team while everyone sits back standing in a small circle.
-
2 RepliesI think people are mad because of your "don't tell me how to play attitude." You are absolutely right that controlling an objective helps you win, but what if that guy who "ran by B" killed 2 enemies coming to kill you playing the obj role? You always need slayers my friend.
