Idea for a new crucible mode

Give me your feedback! I definitely would like to hear your thoughts on the subject. For this mode teams would race to an object placed in a relatively open area (I'm thinking in a pit or on a pillar requiring some quick manoeuvrability) in the center of the map. The object must be held to accrue the points required for a win. Could be fun right? But let's add a little twist. The object causes a lingering damage over time (and possibly a small AoE) to the player holding it forcing him/her to pass it off to a teammate. Remaining stationary greatly increases the effect of the DoT as well so you'd have to keep moving. Passing it off would be exactly like throwing a grenade. This would be the best way IMO as it allows error and possibility for interception. If the object is dropped or a throw does not reach the target, the object will start to move around the map on its own until the next player picks it up. The player holding the object would be unable to use weapons or supers. Only able to melee. The object itself could be a ghost contaminated by darkness. The objective to gain whatever intel it may contain. This would fit in well with game. Team size: 6v6. Revive enabled after 15-20 sec delay. Auto respawn only after team wipe. A player cannot revive teammates if he/she is in possession of the object. That's all for now. Might pop back in a bit with more ideas. Edit: if you like the idea please comment!   • An interesting idea, kinda like oddball with a dark twist. I like it. Some suggestions: Revive should be enabled, to add an element of choice in. "Do I run away, or drop the Shade and revive my teammate?" At the very least there should be normal re-spawning. I also think that melee kills while holding the Shade provide a 1-3 second pause on the DoT tick. Just enough to maybe stabilize, but not to fully recharge. Last suggestion which would be quite deadly, when the player carrying the Shade dies, there is a somewhat potent AoE that goes off, damaging any player nearby, sort of like a self-defense response from the Shade itself. Would add a level of interest if someone kills the Shade carrier and isn't at full health, only to die themselves, leaving the Shade unattended. Maybe make the Shade move slightly if/when it is left alone for too long...say after 30 seconds...just a slight drift to make players panic a bit.
