It needed to be said, so I'll be the one to say it, cuz IDGAF what people think. All you people crying about how you "earned" your (Insert Exotic Here) from RNG as opposed to buying it from Xur, you're all nothing but hipsters. They might as well open up a Starbucks in the Tower for you to chat about how you got the Suros Regime first over Pumpkin Spice Lattes. The Speaker will start selling Hunter ascots, Titan skinny jeans and Warlock cardigans just for your uppity asses.
Gimme a f'king break. Nobody earns anything, it's all REWARDS. Know the difference.
EDIT: Top of the trending page? Nice. Means that many agree that this is ridiculous, and many others are butthurt because they've been called out. The guilty will take offense. Everyone else, have a laugh on me. See you starside, Guardians...and The Speaker now has sizes up to 4XL for you Big & Tall people.
EDIT- Necrobumped for IceBreaker sale #2. 1/16/2015
EDIT- Necrobumped for HoPF sale. 2/27/2015

Bro..you're just mad that you didn't get the reward, ya bitch
-
Said it once I'll keep saying in every one of these threads I see. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=RAA1xgTTw9w
-
Just saying I'd buy a hunter ascot
-
I want an ascot!
-
Funny! But Hipsters don't go to Starbucks because it's so mainstream. Lol

If you consider the actual meaning of the word "earned", then it is self-evident that there are very few things you "earn" in destiny: Levels Faction Marks Motes of light Strange coins The weapon rewards for exotic bounties Raid gear. All else is random Thus, if you follow that to its logical conclusion... you can argue that someone who purchased an exotic item earned it, because they earned the coins. Someone who got it from a strike or crucible, we'll they just got lucky.
-
Buying one with coins that you actually have to work for on weekly heroic is more earning to me than simply getting one at the end of crucible regardless if you did any good or not. And even with the coins you have to be lucky that the one of your likening is sold this week...
-
Edited by Ghost 0f Dawn: 10/12/2014 10:47:52 AMThe Ironic part is, You buy the Exotics from a pool of items selected to be sold based on an RNG system of what will sell. You buy them with coins you got from RNG loot drops. Everyone's exotics came from the same method.
-
If you think about it RNG has nothing to do with " earning it, just means you got lucky. The kids who actually grind out for strange coins even making multiple characters and using the coins to buy the exotic is really earning it so the hipsters are arguing a battle theyll never win no matter how you look at it lmao.
-
You're a liar. I don't see any Starbucks or the Speaker selling ascots. And there is no way I can get something from the game to be in the real world. Stop getting my hopes up.

this is trending? good

Well weather or not it can be classified as earning what annoys people the most is that they get to see their exotic, that only a select few had, become very common place and they shouldn't be common place. Also because he sells 1 weapon he throws off variety, Making it really easy to collect them. The problem is bungie made a game that revolves around an rng system and xur breaks the system bungie created their game on by not only making the strongest guns with the highest rarity very easy to get and arguably just as common place as legendaries, but it also destroys there concept that they want every player to be unique and have there own guardian different from others. Instead xur should sell exotic engrams 1 of each gun type that way not everyone will be carrying around the same exotic all the time, there would be a big variety, while still having dice roll thus making it at least somewhat harder than it is now to get exotics. I believe this is a good middle ground for those that hate xur and those that like him cuz xur should stay, but he shouldn't be like he is. Someone once told me Bungies slogan should have been: Become legend... On Fridays. Lol

I earned my Vex Mythoclast. You just bought it from a hard mode team selling hard mode runs for $50.

The ice breakers barrel reminds of some type of German porn fetish object, it just looks gross IMO.

Edited by fUll951 : 10/12/2014 6:04:16 AM+9999999999999999 the only gun that can be "earned" is the vex mytho clast, and exactly why it should NEVER be nerfed
-
Yes yes, everyone that everyone doesn't like is a hipster. We get it.
-
I agree with you but are you saying there is something wrong with being hipster?

Edited by Primordial Bias: 10/12/2014 7:54:16 AMDestiny Earners and fanboys trying to defend a lack of content: Gamer conduct here represents how society sucks now with people being too entitled because apparently they worked hard to get through a Crucible match for a win but then a guy who joins in just as the game ends gets a purple engram and the guy who did most of the work got nothing (True story, happened a couple days ago on Iron Banner). And not wanting to waste time on something that isn't fun when video games were always about fun in the past and for expecting quality when Bungie had 5 years and $500 million to market and develop the game but we got a severe lack of content but we shouldn't complain because Atari 2600 games were very small because the technology wasn't as good back then. Also, there's almost no way to really "earn" something in this game when all loot revolves around a Vegas Slots system. Everyone else: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gutCFMc5khY I'm sorry, but I just needed to get this off my chest, it's been bugging me a long time and you brought up the Earners.

Trolllolllolll you just made my night

Rng is Rng... nuff said

Edited by Failure4Life: 10/12/2014 5:29:31 AMThis is glorious. The thought that you become unhappy if someone got the same thing as you did by shear luck is dumb. When Xur sells the Universal Remote you wont see me complaining that Xur should disappear or that it's ruining pvp (Blinking hunters with it are crazy though).
-
This whole ongoing topic of earning and not earning loot is hilarious.
-
I've done 2 exotic bounties, bought 2 exotic weapons and 2 exotic armour pieces and bought 2 full sets of legendary gear and 5 legendary weapons. Thing is I've never been given anything higher than blue in a drop... so if that's what an 'earner' is then I'm not really ashamed of it.

I completely agree with this comment im giving you a bump
