High level players: Are you satisfied with the Iron Banner?
Bungie did say that The Iron Banner was aimed at the higher level players of Destiny. So high level players, what's your verdict on this event?

They shoulda had at least a lvl 20 minimum requirement. I'm tired of lvl 6s going 1-30

Then, when you finally poop, it's just a tiny little ping pong ball sized turd. Wholly unimpressive and does nothing but give a sense of unrelenting disappointment. There is no sense of satisfaction to this playlist. Iron Banner should have been called "The Bronze Banner - bring your best gear. It won't matter...but, um, bring it anyway?"

I'm not dissapointed, just not exactly excited about it. So far almost every random I've played with doesn't try to hold points. The level difference changes firefights so little that I can barely tell if someone was a Lvl. 24 or a Lvl. 30, me being at Lvl. 28. I am using the Thorn as my primary and other than the poison it seems to be doing the same amount of damage as a rare level hand canon. So in the end its not that I'm actually dissapointed, just confused why Bungie made a big deal about "level making the difference". It does seem more competative with everyone wanting to rank up though, so that's a definite plus. I just hope I can get to Rank 3 by the end of the week and see that new shader ;)

I'm level 25 and I play solo. I have no legendary weapons or exotics and I'm satisfied. Just reached rank 1

I play with a group of guys who gets kills and can keep control points so it makes it a lot easier to win against people who are at the same level.

3 RepliesThe only thing I like more about it is that people seem more competent on how to play control and actually cap the points and (usually) defend them.

1 ReplyMaybe I just haven't seen it but after logging several hours in Iron Banner - I'm not satisfied with the limiter being turned off - it doesn't feel that way to me I'm not satisfied with the gear - none of it is better than my current stuff I'm very satisfied with the store - I like the shaders and emblems I'm not satisfied with the spoils after a match - top guy still gets shafted, bottom guy still has same chance at gear and better, I haven't seen any drops specific to the Iron Banner I'm going to keep playing it because I enjoy pvp (even though I'm not good at it) but otherwise it doesn't feel like an event to me.

It's perfectly fine, only problem is that at the hint of losing my whole team leaves and completely throws away our chance of winning

I already have the [b]Blacksmith[/b] shader (I said it). I'm A warlock and It looks pretty similar so no thank you. Point is, they overhyped iron banner. They made us think like we were gonna get SUPER AMAZING GEAR. I thought it'd be like a exclusive exotic or somethin. I feel like this is just like the vanguard armory "bonus". They made it seem like it were free, but NOPE. Not to mention that by the time you even can use it you already have rare stuff. Smh smh

Not satisfied at all. There should at least be a rumble mode. I keep getting stuck with terrible teams where I'm consistently the best player on my team but keep losing because the other players don't pull their weight.

Gameplay is fine...event is shit...rewards are worse then queens...not even a new map was introduced...shitty overall I give it 3/10

1 ReplyYou can tell the difference in fully upgraded weapons vs. newly acquired weapons But other than that I'm just being forced to play 'objective' PvP And there's no other objective other than control.... If it cycled through the game types it would probably be slightly more tolerable

3 RepliesEdited by ewiz06: 10/8/2014 6:06:26 PMI have really enjoyed the 5 games I've played so far. People seem to be actually trying to win the match versus only going for kills. I don't care if I get mopped by a level 13 player, that's part of the game. A lot of the time some other player has already depleted my shield/health when the lower level player just happens to come along and lands the actual killshot. This is no different from PvE where your high level buddy does most of the damage against Phogorth and then you pop out and land two small assault rifle bullets and he dies. I will say this, if my team is down by 4,000+ points and there are still 4 minutes left in the game then you know what I'm doing??!!!! Yes, I am staying around and taking my beating like a man. I'm not going to waste the 6 minutes I've already invested in the game, along with whatever I've done to help me complete the bounty just because I won't get any engrams/coins/armor. I still get Crucible marks so I'll be hanging around.
