Bungie.net Forum Moderation Update

Too Long, Will Not Read: The Code of Conduct is being revised and made more discoverable. Be excellent to each other, or be struck by the Banhammer you will. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Very soon (perhaps even today), we launch an update for the Bungie.net forum. Our work will interrupt regular service for a moment or two (or an hour, if we need it). Once the deed is done, our virtual landscape will appear very much the same - at a glance. Just beneath the surface, however, something terrible will be lurking with renewed strength. The Ninjas shall rise again and ascend to their former glory. For over a thousand generations of Internet debate, the Ninjas were the guardians of peace and justice on the old forum. Their Banhammer will swing again. You’ll still be able to Mute users that you would rather not hear from again and Report specific content that has no business being seen by the public. In both cases, the offending people and posts will vanish from your world view of the forum. If the Ninja has yet to notice those issues on their own, your input will activate them to judgment. When content is deemed inappropriate by the Ninja, it will disappear completely, along with the person who created it. In the event that a user is banned (or warned) for poor conduct, they will know what they did to incur the wrath (or the mercy) of the Ninja. The identity of the Ninja will not be known, for the coming and going of the Ninja is not a thing that can be detected by mere mortals. The revised terms of the Bungie.net Code of Conduct will be hard to miss. You’ll find it linked to the forum index. It will reinforce our time-honored values for respect and civility. We’ve always envisioned an ideal for Bungie.net as a place where you can be yourself, so long as you afford your neighbors the same courtesy. With these new changes, we’re taking a more aggressive posture in pursuing those ideals. Play nice! DeeJ BNG Community Manager Bungie

 • Things are rather heated on your new news update. This is a very touchy topic posted at a very crucial time. Now everyone who either or love/hate or just want to make Destiny better are getting very dark. Both sides. But sad to say too many that may have had constructive things to say that I may have or have not agreed with are turning that thread into something else. I don't place blame but Bungie you posted this with the knowledge of these outcries and I support Extra Life but I believe your timing may bring them support and it could also have negative effects. It is clear who wants to be of help and not. I suggest to close comments and leave info on website and how to contact sponsors and leave it at that for now. I just read all the code of conduct ban hammer stuff but dissing children, sick children, over a game that, yes did not meet my expectations as well (but I tried to remain positive on that thread), to them is either a disaster or whatever is a contradiction of said code. Maybe I'm over zealous, maybe this was a low distraction, everyone's entitled to their opinion but I will play the 25th and if I want to know more I'll go to extra life. The thread is fueling the flames. Not saying there was no good to come out of it. I've never donated to a charity till now. But I think the rest can speak for itself.
