Is something different with Legendary Engrams drop rates?
So, Before patch 1.02 i would get about 2-3 engrams every couple of days, now since the patch launched i have been doing strikes every single day and farming while getting my 200 fallen headshots in and around venus, after 20+ Tiger Strikes, first thing this morning a get my first legendary engram from the rewards.
Then there i was happy that i got one after 3 days of strikes and annoyed that not only was it from a reward but the fact that i havent had one drop at all.
So TLDR; Is it just me or are legendaries not dropping as much as they were before? Let's just talk about it who else has the same badluck as me?

completely random. i wasnt getting many before the patch, and now i seem to be getting 1-3 a day, which for me is a good amount.

1 ReplyI've settled on just getting them from Cryptarch ranking. I haven't gotten one from a drop since the patch.

The patch that was implemented was cosmetic. The "true" legendary drop rate has remained the same. Let's say that in 12 hours of regular play pre-patch you find 10 legendary engrams. 9 decrypt into rates and one is actually a "true" legendary. Now, after the patch, you will find 9 more rare engrams than you did before in that same 12 hours of playtime and 1 legendary. As a side note, it isn't entirely cosmetic. Legendary engrams give more cryptarch xp than rare. As a community you begged for us to get fckt. Don't blame bungie for this one. Blame yourselves.

This is true.. Since they made legendary engram's turn into only legendary or higher gear.. I'm sure they had to nip the drop rate some.. You can thank all the whiners that would complain when there legendary engram's turned into crap most of the time.. So for them to actually give us legendary stuff they made the drop rate lower I'm sure.. That goes with turning ascendant materials into legendary also.. They had to have something other than gear to help set the so called "balance"

3 RepliesYep. The only thing they did is take a chance of exoctic off of blue. And then Not even give a once a day drop of purple. Also leveling the cryptarc when at the higher levels no longer gives you purple thought the letter is a legendary. They just turned everything blue at the onset the lottery was better. At least you had some hope.

10 Repliesthe system is even worse than before :') I can only get legendary engrams from the level 24 strike and a few other things, haven't had a purple drop since the update haha

3 Repliesyou expected them to change engrams to guarantee Legends and higher chance from blues and not tinker with the drop rate? Yes the drop rate on them was severely lowered, the patch did nothing but quell the flames from people thinking they deserved legends from purp engrams. With that said you earn legends at the same pace or even slower than before the patch.

2 RepliesBefore, the VAST majority of "legendary" engram's would be blues. Now, when you snatch that purple glowing orb of awesome, you KNOW its a legendary.... Or better. So yeah, you will see fewer purple, but when you do they actually are worth something.
