Scarcity of Ascendant Shards? Or just my luck
Hey guys, not really a complaint thread but would like to see what other people think. Also I haven't looked to see if anything like this was already posted. Anyway, its been 1 week and I've been rewarded all of 1 Ascendant Shard, and plenty of hours have been put in to searching for said shard. am I doing Destiny wrong? And if so, how would some of you suggest, through your experience, I go about changing my luck even a little bit? Thanks, also looking for more relaxed players to team up with

4 RepliesI'm having the same problem but here is what I can tell you: I wouldn't do Daily Heroic Mission because all you get is Ascendant Energy (past 3 days all I've gotten is energy) Public Events sometimes give you Shards I would concentrate on buying Legendary armor from your Vanguard/Crucible dealer and dismember the armor to get shards (2 - 3 a piece) Save up your mote of lights to be an Engram from Xur, then dismember the Armor piece. Since it is exotic it should give you TONS of shards. That's just my 2 cents

4 RepliesDaily heroic missions reward ascendant materials a lot of the time. Also if you get a gold tier in your first public even every day you can get a shard or energy from the mail guy. Yesterday I did two public events which each awarded me shards. The daily heroic which gave me a shard and then picked up my reward from the mail bot which included a shard. Also if I get any legendary engrams for a class I don't use (or don't plan on using) I'll dismantle it and get the shards as well.

1 ReplyEdited by Kuromugi: 9/30/2014 8:19:21 PMIt took me 5 days of game time to hit level 28.5 without dismantling queens wrath gear before the nerf. That's how bad my RNG was. Granted I spend a lot of time exploring on patrol and having fun, which is something a lot of people don't seem to do.

2 RepliesPlay the daily heroic mission on the highest level and you are guaranteed to get 2 ascendant materials. It could be shards or it could be energies but either way it helps. Participate in public events. The first one that you gold tier in each day is guaranteed to give you one ascendant material. The rest are pot luck but can give you some more.

2 RepliesI get about 3 a day from public events. It takes me about 40 to get 3 done (depending on event timers and travel time) i use 3 different characters. Some days I get more than 3

You can do the daily mission on lvl 28 and it gives you ascendant material. But for me I always get energy not the shards

3 RepliesI have noticed a drastic decline lately. Last week I would get one from every 2-3 world events, sometimes 1 from each event. Now, after the hot"fix", I have not seen a single one drop.

8 Repliessame boat. I have gotten zero in the last 4 days. At least I got a little energy though. I posted about this yesterday. Leveling in this game is reduced to nothing more than waiting for shards/energies for the majority of players who are all purple/gold. No xp you gain, no strikes you complete, no head shots you acquire, etc. etc. etc. can lvl your toon. The only thing that will is the luck of the draw. Kind of sad.

If you have any Legendary equipment not for your class break that down it will get you some (except for the queens armor)

1 ReplyI have two. That's right, two. Multiple pieces of armor that could be upgraded multiple times but I have no shards to upgrade them with. One of the two that I have I got during a public event over the weekend. One. Starting to get bored with Destiny.

4 RepliesWish they would change it so breaking down queens armor gave 1 shard. Or even a roll of 1 shard / energy / mote / coin all weighted at 25%. at least that would be something worth turning in the 12 tickets i cant even be bothered to complete.

4 RepliesEdited by Crows Descend: 9/30/2014 11:34:19 AMGot 48 but nothing to upgrade until I do hardmode VoG I guess >.> ermm.. not exactly sure how I got them all but I did get quite a few pieces of legendary gear from engrams which I didn't need, plus I dismantled some exotics and stuff that I didn't need... Your best bet is just to have a hard think (whatever legendary gear you have that you aren't using) and dismantle something, armour, not weapons :p

1 ReplyEdited by Professor Goat: 9/30/2014 11:27:47 AMThey are hard to get. Vog will reward you with a bunch, so will the weekly. But 6-8 for one armour upgrade? You're gunna need a lot of them. Also, I need 47 more shards to fully upgrade my gear. :(
