For now buy ammo packs. Always help to have some heavy ammo when you need it.

Yep, I do the same. It is the only choice and a very good one too. Ammo packs come in handy on raids and nightfalls.

When the raid pretorians come i need my void rocket launcher so i can kill them quick.

Once you get Atheon's Epilogue and deck it out you will shred them in seconds. It's such a fantastic weapon against Void enemies.

It drops off Atheon only so just raid weekly and you will eventually get it. My group has already received it 3 times.
