I love the game and I have had an absolute blast with it. But at the end of the day, this is a progression based game. And progression based games have to provide incentive to complete activities. If there are 10 things I can do in the game and 9 of them offer rewards, very few people will do the other 1. You created this thread based on mine that was simply stating this: Bungie removed incentive for the content they created. I don't want things handed to me. I want to work for them. I never did the loot cave because I hate farming. But doing the level 24 missions with those modifiers were very challenging and I think getting SOMETHING from them is fair. Getting the same helmet and chest piece isn't an incentive, which is why people were doing it for the materials. I'm not saying we should be able to farm 10 an hour, but why not 2 an hour? Why make it 0 and give people no reason at all to do the event?
