Hunter players, are the majority of them always this pig headed?

It just seems no matter which mmo is being played, be it WoW etc, that an alarming number of hunter players seem to see themselves as some sort of skilled master race that the rest of us should be in awe of. Of course i don't mean this of all hunters. Im sure many of you are out to have a good time like the rest of us. I just cant help noticing that on these forums and indeed many others, i notice a large number of hunter players that insist that the class is best in game, other classes need nerfing, real hunters use real skill etc. Can anyone shed any light on why this class attracts so many snobby tards? Its got to the point where every time i splatter a hunter with my titan fist, i instantly feel like i have done a small justice to the community in general by shutting one of them up for just a second. My little rant over :') Enjoy your night guardians.

    • In all truth the Hunter is the best class as for as MY play style, I agree, I've come across some irritable players destroying the motive behind us true hunters. I stand myself in crucible and pve. I stay true to how the Hunter is INTENDED to be played. They give a hunter a sniper in tutorial for a reason, we hunt, we watch our enemies, we stay SILENT. The cocky ruin that and give true hunters bad names. But I've come across cocky warlocks and Titans, it's just people are duche bags, not everyone but most are. I can't say Hunter takes more skill because I haven't touched the other two as well, but I can say that it does require skill to use a weapon effectively, to help your team win.

      • BTW it's funny , before the game released everyone said nobody would pick them . Unfortunately you are right , the non casual gamers and some snotty ( not to say non casual gamers are the snotty type ) usually fall back to the Hunter . My in game kills are usually lower w others if I'm back covering in a no respawn area . But it's only tactical so we don't all start over . No offense intended to the non casuals , not everyone has time to play . I'm a stay at home dad and play during naps and cleaning our house . Much respect to you all , Titans , Warlocks & Hunters , and all u fellow gamers . Hope we all have fun . See u starside ...

      • I chose hunter mainly due to the look and double jump. I tried to adapt my play style to "hunter" and feel like the class has improved me a lot, not just in destiny but in a lot of fps games. Compared to other games, this has definitely pushed me to improve my skills a lot more. I'm not about to say you have no skill for choosing titan or lock, never really understood the whole fanboying over classes thing.

      • Hunter, in this game, requires far more skill on part of the player to be as effective as a titan or warlock, who both have game mechanics that do most of the work for them. On the other hand, hunter probably has the most potential, so if you're highly skilled you'll probably do way better with a hunter than you would with a lock or titan.

        • I chose a Hunter because that's what I had played in the Beta . I love sniper rifles as much as the next guy , I just happen to enjoy getting a head shot from down the scope. In no means is the only way I play , but I don't feel any better than anyone else . It just fits my play style and I prefer the look better . I will eventually play w all classes . I hope u get lucky to come across nicer players . Good luck guardian , happy hunting . If ever we cross paths I will give u the respect that a hunter or decent respectable player should . See u starside ...

        • Because hunters are the kinds of people who like to do damage without being hit themselves. The kind of people who will eat all your food in the fridge but cry when you take a small cup of their juice. The kind of people who say something is fair as long as it suits them. You are doing the world a service with each one you kill

        • It's stupid that people make these generalisations, each class requires a different skill set and play style. People who like to eat bullets and be in the enemies face choose Titans, but to do that you need to be able to chose you fights and how you approach them. Hunters are the ones who like to be speedy and stealthy, deal a fair amount of damage in a short period and get out. The skill required here is the ability to choose your paths and use your speed to your advantage. Warlocks use their AoE abilities to take out large clumps of enemies, I haven't use the warlock yet so I can't really say what its strengths are, though my friend uses it and he is of great value to the team using his sunsinger ability. Each class can be used in different ways as well, so you can't say one particular class requires more skill than the other. It comes down to how you: A) like to play B) how you look at the battlefield and choose your tactics To finish off my little rant, All classes have snobby people who say that their class requires more skill, because that's what they're good at. I personally like the Titan class because I like to eat bullets, use shotguns and melee my enemies, and my skill set and the way I look at the battlefield helps me use that class as best I can. So people please stop complaining all classes require skill and are all valuable, none more important than the other.

        • I play Hunter because I was a hunter on WoW, so I carried it on. I'll be completely honest and unbiased. Blade dancer is by far the best Super for PVP if you want a lot of kills within the time. Golden gun is also very good and if used correctly, can garuntee 3+ kills. My personal opinion, the throwing knife isn't that good, fair enough if you're extremely accurate it can be fantastic but it's hard to hit a strafing enemy. Warlocks dominate PvP because their melee is definately the strongest and can potentially 1 hit kill. They can spam grenades and melee from a mile away. Titans on the other hand have a low cool down 1 hit kill shoulder charge which makes them extremely good. I see what you mean, I played WoW and a huge number of hunters (huntards) were idiots but a minority were the most skilled in the game. It's a shame that people put a bad name and reputation to our class because I regard myself as a decent player.

I think people are over-exaggerating the skill needed to play hunter. Do we require skill to play effectively? Of course. Does every other class need skill to play effectively. Of course! Ours require pre-meditated decisions in order to get the most out of our Arcblade or GoldenGun, since we are Hit-And-Run. Warlocks require knowing positioning and lockdown AoE tactics. Titans require positioning and flank tactics, since they are the most upfront in-your-face class as well as having that handy shield. Knowing where and when to place that can be a huge asset! We just require a different type of skill, that could be said of all classes. In terms of raw power, Warlocks and Titans have us outmatched. In terms of speed, there's no other like us. That's mostly what it comes down to; How effectively can we get in and out of the situation, with the least amount of damage taken as possible. Hit and run.

          • I only chose the hunter class over the others because it's the class/play style I use in all games. Being agile and stealth like a ninja is what made me pick the class. I think hunter is very underpowered compared to other classes (Titans shoulder charge, fist of havok and whatever the superman thing is(all Insta kill) (warlocks where they can spam out tons of nova bombs etc and there super (forgot name) and being able to self resurrect....).

          • Hunters have fastest movement speed, most versatile double jump/triple jump, smallest character models, arguably the best supers for pvp, an instant kill grenade and they are in the middle when it comes to armor rating. Hunters are the most used class for a reason.

You can make BS claims all you want but I will just sit quietly in the background knowing that we would have had far slimmer chances at victory without my sneaky sneaky overwatch and stealth revives. I'm always the one picking off those pesky snipers Swapping guns to bring down shields for others to use their stronger guns to finish them off Shooting that thrall that was about to shank you in the back because you missed it on your radar Taking out that one Knight raining down hellfire on all of us Drawing the bosses attention so you can get out of a tight spot Reviving you when you don't manage to get out of a tight spot quite intact I hardly ever get recognition for these things. But you know what? I don't care, I revel in the quiet fact that I and I alone know how much I have helped the team to victory.

            • It was the cloak that made me a hunter! I don't think I'm better than anyone whenever I'm playing I just try my best and I have been beaten by plenty of warlocks and even more Titans but one thing I do think it's that I look way better than both warlocks and Titans sorry.

            • Not only is it through the players (not all of them just most) but in the lore they are meant to be very arrogant "I'm better than you"-ish

            • Listen I'm a hunter and I don't view me as snobby... The only reason why I think hunters think that the have more skill than other classes is because if their supers... The hunter is extremely different compared to warlock and Titan in terms of supers... Basically for titans and warlocks it's aim... Hit the bumpers and boom... Death to them all... Hunters on the other hand have to hit the bumpers and then either aim for 3 enemies (gunslinger) or try to close in the gap for those melee kills (blade dancer) Now of course there is sunsinger which basically makes all your attacks superpowered which also requires skill... And then you have defender Titan which just offers super protection... So skill is required for all classes but those of us hunters who are snobby forget about sunsinger and defender.

              • Lol Titans think theyre the ultimate badasses and warlocks think theyre way better than everything. Hunters dont give a -blam!- about anything. Every class had its way of being badass so dont complain about anothers way. Plus you dont even know how many times ive had to switch to my invisibility skills to go revive people (losing my melee, grenade, and super in the process)

              • Honestly i see more titans thinking thiere all high and mighty. Thinking thiere to good revive team mates. Thinking they dont need to help other players. Im a hunter. I help where ever I can. In most strikes im the one with the most revives and assist. I dont really see to many warlocks. Id have to say its 40% titans 40% hunters and 20% warlocks. But thats just from what ive seen

                  • Because hunters are seen as the sniper class and people want to be snipers. Look at CoD and BF. The majority of those communities are sniper wannabees. Borderlands most played class? The sniper hunter-esque class.
