And i think Joe is absolutely right. There are so many aspects of the game where destiny is as good as we would expect from bungie, but the story doesn't even start before the end credits roll. They totally sold us an incomplete game, with a DLC card in the package. I defended bungie wherever i could when people said the activision alliance isn't a good idea, but look what they have done. Do you guys think they planned on shipping the game with this introduction story to destiny in mind? Do you really think they thought this would be enough? I don't.

Destiny is made to last over 10 years. Be patient it's coming
-
I wish #Bungie would read this review and say to themselfs, "man we really -blam!-ed up on teling everyone this story was going to be amazing then cutting it in half if not more then that when it comes out". BUNGIE Please early release some story content, give us voice chat on pvp, and make the loot system a bit more friendly. Angry Joe never even hit on the silence in multiplayer that is so upsetting.
-
Yes, this is by design. This is how the modern gaming market works now: ship game, leave stuff out, charge players for DLC to "expand" on said game, rinse & repeat. Big companies are going to milk us for all we're worth.
-
I do. It's basically an mmo with no subscription fee, and they can't release constant new content, keep the servers up, and pay employees for the next ten years off of disc sales alone. It all boils down to the money, and even if I don't like it, I understand why it was done.

the game needs work. It needs a chat in the tower to ask ppl to join mission. they need to fix their errors. nothing worse then 1/2 way through a mission and get thrown out of the game world. game is a easy 8/10. I think it also needs a auction house and a way to craft armor and weapons. I havent played WOW in years but at least it was thought out and made very well to play, i was never kicked off also. bungie should consider some of those things. make the game better if they have a so called 10year plan.
-
Master Chief Collection here I come! At least I know that will be great.
-
if you guys want the full story of Destiny read up on the Grimoire cards. Lots of interesting lore and background about Destiny. Then people would think the story is great
-
It's just the little things that is bad about Destiny. Bungie could easily fix them or add them but haven't yet.
-
I do agree with his primary point, but I didn't even make it 2 minutes into this video. He looks and acts like a clown. Some people are weird, and not in an quirky, endearing way.
-
Why don't the Fallen nuke the Traveler in its low orbit?
Exactly what I was thinking.
-
He has plenty of valid points that I completely agree with. But the game is still entertaining as hell
-
I don't know if they can pull the 10 year plan off, especially with no mans sky coming out, the order, and so on. I just don't see it striving off pure addiction rather than fun.
-
Thx for the heads up. Cant wait to see his review tonight

Edited by ThisGamesuxballs: 9/22/2014 10:24:48 AMNever buy a DLC game ,,,, EVER !!!!!! . tell the Devs to shove it where it came from and give us a full game without DLC . they F**k ur wallet, then the gameplay ,only 2 laugh @ the idiots who keeps throwing money at it
-
i thought his review was on point , the games story not being told in game is really horrible , so many things to be told about everything in the destiny lore yet we get nothing , no explanations , and the missions are repetitive. still i think score wise it deserves at least an 8/10 , with all the flaws im having a blast playing it for the most part , the gameplay and pvp is spot on.
-
He raises excellent points. He bashes an awful lot on Activision though. I'm willing to bet Bungie is far from against making more royalties on additional separate content sales.
-
I like the game. I can't stop playing it. I have to agree that every single thing in this long ass review is accurate and the rants are spot on, not to mention hilarious.
-
Oh course it is an incomplete game. It's a new franchise. Every new franchise cannot meet the expectations of games that are 3-4 games into the market.
-
I understand people are angry about the story, I just notice that I couldn't care less and actually enjoy the feeling of being free of any specific story tying up my character. I see the point about the story, but for me I do not think having a better story line would change anything to the game. I really like the feeling of pure discovery I get from Destiny so far. To me when I play destiny I feel like I'm playing an open-to-interpretation/imagination world. I mean nobody ever complained about the lack of story in minecraft? I know you can't compare those games that easily but I noticed that I play destiny the same way and it's feels really good for me.
-
He really seems angry.

His review is very accurate in my opinion, it reflects my feelings really well. Ive got to 27, and its a complete grind, hearing about this much randomness when it comes to rewards puts me off wanting to play them. Not touched the Raid, except for a quick go on the opening because its so difficult to find people to raid with. I don't want to fill my friends list with loads of random people... so when im playing another games I am getting invites and alerts to play destiny when I really can't be bothered. Reading the stuff about the upcoming Queens Wrath (the little bit of information on the picture Bungie released) makes me think that its just yet again going to be more pointless bounties, more grinding. The game has failed, it won't stop me playing it because theres nothing else to play at the moment and it cna be enjoyable at times especially when grouped with friends. But I have done just about everything, or tried just about everything (only the nightfall and raid I need to complete). And people are saying well you haven't experienced most of the game, the joke is that nightfall is exactly the same level, just with harder and more annoying enemies, which is how the rest of the game is built when you can up the level. I know one review at GamesRadar said that its about longevity, and thats where it will pay off... but the actual core of the game, what all the story is built from just is so pathetic and so random that it makes me concerned about what may be coming up.

Look at all these blind fanboys that didnt even watch the review. lol

Guys I know it hurts to see someone bash the game that you love, but lets face facts. Bungie could've done better with Destiny and we have to hammer them about the game's shortcomings because if we don't, they'll just keep doing the same thing over and over. And please lets not kill ourselves over each other's opinions... peace.

Why are people failling to see that they are adding more story gradually. For an example aren't we getting more missions next week?
